The room was cold. Mammy's mouth was moving as if she were talking to me but no sound was coming out. She was sat in her armchair by a dead fire and only the light from the moon outside was illuminating our shell of a home. In my ears was a high pitched one note noise. Drowning out anything mammy was saying. Was it a whistle? A scream? An instrument? I wasn't sure.
Mammy continued to move her lips rapidly as if hurrying to explain something I couldn't discern.
As I glanced to her lap both of her hands were clutching something. Something small that I couldn't see it - hiding it in her two cupped hands but holding it tightly.

"Mammy what is that?" My voice cut through the high pitched noice and it stopped immediately.

Silence.

Mammy glanced down at her hands then to the window and slowly a horrified look spread over her face followed by silent tears rolling from her eyes.
Slowly , while keeping her left hand clutched around the mysterious item , she raised her right hand and pointed to the window at whatever was scaring her.
I followed her gaze and saw in the tree outside our home was an owl.

"Please not again." She whispered

"Mammy!" The word had left my lips before I'd sat up in bed. The room was warm but the chill from the dream lingered on my neck.
Tears stung my cheek as I sat up in shock. The window across the dorm was frosting on the outside and a dark blue sky was barley visible. The clock showed the time ; 05:41.

Ruby was in her bed. When had she come back in? I couldn't have been asleep longer than four hours. Where had she been? She'd abandoned me at the party she'd asked me to. I felt an urge to shake her awake and hex her but I refrained.

The dream lingered at the back of my mind. It was new. I wracked my brain. Was this a memory or something my mind had conjured on its own? I couldn't tell. Curious that the night Onai draws attention to my dreams of Mammy I should have a new one.

I leaned over to the bedside cabinet, selecting a quill and a blank journal.

"05:41 ; dreamt of Mammy , she's holding something. Scared. Owl."

I stared at the words for several seconds. I'd seen that owl many times in my childhood. He had sat on the tree across the field for years. He wasn't new. Why was Mammy so afraid?

My mouth was dry and my head was pounding. At least it was Saturday.
Saturday.
I was due to meet Natty and Poppy in Hogsmeade today.
I sighed and pulled myself out of bed glugging down some wiggenweld I'd left at the side of my bed in preparation for my hangover.
I wasn't getting back to sleep anytime soon , I dragged my disgusting sticky body to the bathroom and ran a bath.

"Quite a difference from last night I must say." The mirrors snarky voice commented. She was right.

My hair was sticking up every-which way, makeup smeared down my eyes. I sank into my warm bath and tried to make sense of everything that had happened the previous night.
Ruby abandoned me to speak to someone for "five minutes" and I never saw her again till this morning. Ominis was cruel and aggressive , unlike him. There must be a reason for it. And him and Ruby know each other alarmingly well.
Luka was at alluring, kind and attentive before I was stolen away by Ominis. Luka hadn't come to find me or try and fend Ominis off which I couldn't explain.
Weasley running his hands all over me. I cringed and moaned out loud at the memory. I'd have to see him again and try and give him the cold shoulder - it felt like that Kitty was a totally different alter ego. Why had I drank so much?

Then Sebastian.

I pushed that memory away because I didn't feel like crying. There was too many things in my head I wish I could just get rid of my thoughts...
