Chapter 1 - A fresh start

I board my flight from Toronto to London. I don't even wanna go. Its my moms idea. My mom has always been amazing! She supports whatever I want and helps me achieve it, but when her and my father started fighting she got bitter. My grades started dropping because I couldn't concentrate, my mom blamed my dad making them fight even more until they filed for a divorce in July. Now its mid- August and were heading for a new life in London. I told my mom I didn't wanna go, why would I? But she said there was no way I was staying, and here I am.
I mostly didn't want to leave because I was just getting popular in the end of year 10, I lost some weight, got a killer ass and grew my hair. I got braces for my teeth and got new whitening toothpaste! I was just making it and now Its gone to waste.
'Plane will soon be landing, please fasten your seatbelts' I heard a flight attendant say. I put my black nike stutter-steps on (I can't wear shoes on the plane, its not comfy), I was wearing black leggings and a blue jumper with them. The comfiest outfit known to man.
The plane soon lands and we all shuffle off.
"This will be better for us" my mom reassures me while squeezing my arm. I know the real reason we came here, other than the divorce, well it was the reason for the divorce. My mom started talking to some guy that lives here, and now we're staying with him. Mom says they're just friends but I know thats not true.
"One second mom, I need the bathroom" I tell her, walking away quickly so she doesnt follow, leaving her looking like a lost puppy.
I get to the bathroom and look in the mirror, my long brown hair is in a side braid and goes down to my mid-section. My makeup still looks ok, its only eyeliner and mascara, and my eyebrows, on fleek -as per usual- I look in the mirror one more time before leaving to find my mom.
When I find her she already has our luggage and is rushing me out of the airport. She sees at tall, semi-muscular man, she hugs him quickly then introduced us.
"Jack, this is my daughter holly. Holly, this is Jack" She says nervously.
He nods at me and I give him a half smile, we get in his car and start down the road.
