Chapter 38

Hollys pov

I opened my eyes quickly, throwing the covers off of myself. I turn my alarm off and my music on. I get dressed while dancing to Look like by Charlie Sloth, I apply my makeup and brush my hair, throwing it up into a ponytail right after. I'm ready for school by 7 am.
I walk downstairs and pour a bowl of cereal for myself while checking my social media. I tap my foot on the floor, patiently waiting for it to be late enough to leave for school. I get a message from Josh.
Josh- Today's the day!
Holly- Wait whats going on?
I replied sarcastically.
Josh- Well I dunno, you see if you passed your test and see what position you play on the hockey team.
Holly-Oh right, forgot about that.
Josh-No you didn't. Anyways you should come over here before you leave.
Holly-Alright well I can come over now, unless thats too early for you.
Josh-Nope! Come over now, doors unlocked!
I grab my backpack, swinging it over my shoulder, and hurry out the door.
I open the door to the Sidemen house, revealing the most chaos I've experienced in a while. First of all, there was confetti everywhere, along with broken eggs, water, milk (I'm guessing) and  silly string. Harry runs by behind the stairs, followed by JJ and Ethan carrying water guns. They're laughing and Harrys screaming. Vik is just walking past now holding a camera. Josh comes out of the kitchen and throws an egg. I hear it hit the wall and Harry scream again. I walk in slowly, closing the door gently so then you wouldn't be able to hear it in the video. I walk up to Josh and tap him on the shoulder.
"Oh hey Holly!" He says loudly. All the boys stop and turn to face me, the room now silent.
"Hi Josh, um why did you invite me over?" I ask him, looking around at JJ standing in his underwear, his shorts now over Harrys head who is getting sprayed but water guns.
"Because, today is important so I wanna drive you!" He says with a smile.
"Alright, but school starts at 9 and its 7:15." I state, turning on my phone to check the time.
"We'll find something to do." JJ starts,
"But I want to drive her in my lambo!" He exclaims. Him and Josh start talking about who gets to drive me.
I walk into the kitchen to find Cal, Simon and Tobi.
"Hey Holly!" Cal yells, standing up to hug me.
"Hey." I respond with a smile.
"Did you stay the night here? We usually don't see you in the morning!" Tobi says.
"No, Josh texted me this morning wanting me to come over so here I am." I state.
"Are you nervous for today?" Simon asks me.
"Sorta. I'm not as nervous as I probably should be." I say truthfully.
"Confidence is key." Tobi quotes. Harry walks into the room.
"I can drive you to school in my car if you want." Harry says. I hear JJ yell 'No!' from another room in the house.
"It really doesn't matter to me. I just need to get to school." I say, laughing at JJ.
I sit and talk with them until about 8:15 and then JJ comes in.
"I'm driving you to school. Cal and Harry are coming with, but they'll be driving in a different car." JJ states.
"Hey, I want to go!" Vik says.
"Me too!" Ethan exclaims.
Eventually all of the guys are coming with.
When I get to school, I feel sick to my stomach. Fuck off nerves. I notice that people are staring, why wouldn't they be? I'm in a red and purple Lamborghini. I open the door and get out. I walk over to where JJ and the rest of the guys are waiting for me. People are looking at me as I walk in the school. The guys are all behind me joking about when they were in high school.
We walk into the office.
"Oh hello." The secretary says, looking up at us standing infront of her.
"Can I have my test results please?" I ask her. She hands me an envelope and I take it slowly and walk out of the office. I stand in the hallway now, along with the guys beside me, forming a circle.
"Are you going to open it?" Josh prods.
I nod and rip it open. I pull the paper out and unfold it. I let my eyes skim over it.
"So?" Josh says. I hand it to him. "I am pleased to announce that Holly Williams has passed her placement test. She will continue the year in grade 11." Josh recites. JJ picks me up and hugs me. I hug the rest of the guys. When I hug Simon I get nostalgia. I look at him, making eyes contact. I pull him close, kissing him. I couldn't control myself. Fireworks go off inside my mind. I pull away and look at him again.
"Sorry." I mutter.
"What's there to be sorry about?" He questions me, a smile growing on his face exposing his adorable dimples. I turn around and face the others guys, all still celebrating. Once we all settle down I walk with them to my locker getting my books for my first classes. They walk me to math and then leave. I sit beside one of the guys who sits at my lunch table.
"When does the list go up?" He asks me.
"I have no idea. Are you nervous?" I respond.
"Yeah. People were a lot better this year than I thought. I'm Marcus by the way." He tells me.
"Right. I'm Holly." I tell him.
"I know." He says.
After Science I walked to lunch with Chase. I sit in between him and Marcus.
"So, when will the list be up? Does anyone know?" Matt asks all the people sitting at our table. We all just look around waiting for someone to say something. Fifteen minutes later Coach Hudson came into the cafeteria. We all watched as he pinned a piece of paper onto the wall and walked out. Everyone got up and ran over to the list. Eventually I squeezed through the crowd to read the list. I placed my finger on the top of the list.

When I get to the bottom of the list a smile is instantly on my face. I turn around and walk back to our table. I gather my things and walk to the
bathroom. I get out my phone and dial Simons number.
"Hello?" He asks.
"Hey Si." I say trying to sounds upest.
"Whats up?" He asks.
"Bad news." I respond.
"What happened?" He asks quickly.
"The Hockey teams player roster just went up...." I trail off.
"Did you make it?" He asks anxiously.
"Well, I, I'm captain!" I exclaim.
"Oh my god! That's great Hol!" He says excitedly.
"Yeah, alright I'm going to go talk to some of the other players! Bye!" I say and hang up.
I walk out into the hallway and to my locker.
"Well there she is." Matt says, clapping slowly.
"Here I am." I say back.
"Congrats Holly." He says in a disappointed voice.
"You too." I say back.

~Time skip to Friday night~

"Congratulations to all of you for making the team." Coach Hudson says when he walks in. "This season won't be easy, you'll be tired and sweaty when you play on this team. No slackers. I would like to especially con graduate Holly Williams and Matt Lewis for getting captain and alternative." He says, everyone claps for us. He starts from the top of the list asking people for what they want their number to be and clothing sizes and other stuff like that.
"Holly Williams." He says. I walk over to him and sit down. I order medium everything. "And what would you like your number to be?" He asks.
"8." I respond.
"Any reason for 8?" He asks while writing things down.
"I met my best friends in the eighth month of the year." I state, thinking of when I met the Sidemen.
"Well number 8, I'm ecstatic to have you on my team this year. I have high expectations for you. Don't let me down." He states. I nod and walk away.

The next two months were hectic. Hockey practices 3 times a week. No games yet though. Me and Simon aren't back together but a lot of the time we act like it. Everything seems to be falling into place.
