It's been two weeks now and I haven't slept well after the thing with Lamar. I hadn't talked to Lamar since then either. I had my sister take, Little L to his house and told her to tell him that Lamar was going to stay with him until it was time for my parents to pick him up. I would miss the part of Saturday that I spent with him, but it was for the best. I talked to Anthony every day, but we met up at my sister's club, and that was about it. I know I could have gone to his place but dealing with Lamar and his craziness I didn't want him lurking outside of Anthony's house. Anthony was confused, naturally. He wanted to know why I didn't want him to come over anymore. I told him that it was because I had a lot going on in my life right now. We hadn't had sex since that morning. He never mentioned a thing. It was a day that we were meeting up at my sister's, I came in early to see what my sister was up to because I hadn't talked to her one on one for a while.
"What's up?" my sister asked me.
"Nothing," I said as I humped my shoulders.
"That's not what I hear. Everyone is concerned about you, and we are here to help," she said as she placed her arm around me.
"It's Lamar," I said as I shook my head.
"I knew it! What about him?"
"He's been following me and Anthony."
She opened her eyes wide and said, "What? Shut up!"
"Seriously. He's creeping me out."
" He thinks that he is protecting me and his son."
"It's kind of sweet in a way."
"No, not sweet. He's crazy."
"Yeah, well, we all know that is true. Do you think he wants you back?"
I rolled my eyes in the air. "Lamar wants a lot. Lamar wants too much."
"So, what are you going to do?"
"I don't know. I'm not going back to him, not right now, anyway. He needs to change."
"So, how are things going with you and Anthony?"
"I don't know. We haven't had sex in two weeks."
"Two weeks, what? And he's still coming around. He really likes you, then. Another man would have gone somewhere else by now."
"You don't have to tell me," I said as if she knew about my whore of a husband. "Lamar is starting to ruin everything."
"Well, it's one thing that he hasn't ruined, yet," she said as she nodded her head over to the door.
It was Anthony. I smiled and said, "No, not yet." I stood up and walked over to him.
"You are so beautiful." He said.
I smiled and said, "Thank you. What took you so long? You usually beat me here."
"I know. I had a lot to think about."
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"I need to know what is going on. Do you not want to be with me anymore?" he asked as we sat down at one of the tables.
"No, it's nothing like that. I told you I just have to work through some things right now."
"I know you keep saying that, but it seems like it is more than that. We have been meeting at your sister's club for the last two weeks. You won't let me come to your house; you won't come to mine. What am I supposed to think?" he then placed his hand on my knee and said, "I can take it if you don't want to be with me anymore. I just want you to be honest with me."
