Chapter Eight

This morning I woke up to an orgasm. This has been happening for a couple of days a week for the last month. It must have been because I hadn't had sex in a while. Almost every other day, without fail, I would wake up happy. This really disturbed me, not because I was having orgasms on a regular. That was a good thing. The disturbing part was because of the person that I was dreaming of. I could not believe that I was still thinking about Terrence. What was wrong with me? He's my husband's friend. I decided it was enough of thinking about that, so I got up, went into the bathroom, washed my face, and brushed my teeth. I went into Little L's room to get him ready for school.

"Hey, Mr., it's time to get up for school," I said as I lifted the covers back off of his head.

"Can I have *five more minutes, Mom, please?" He said as he held up his five fingers.

"Okay. I know it's hard to get up for school, but you have to come on because your dad will be here to take you to school in a bit."

"Dad's coming to get me?" he said, hopping up and running into the bathroom.

After Lamar picked up Little L, and I went back upstairs to start looking for work. I decided it was time to start looking for employment. I never knew it was so hard looking for a job. I decided I would take a bath and think on it. I went into the bathroom and ran me a bubble bath. I was relaxing in the tub when my phone rang. "Hello."

"Hey, sis, what's up?" Niecey asked.

"In the bath. What's up with you?"

"Do you want to go to the mall with me?"

"What do you need from the mall?"

"I just want to get some perfume and look for some other stuff."

"You have like one hundred bottles of perfume. How much perfume does one need?"

"As many as one wants," she said with a little annoyance in her voice. "As long as one can afford it."

Niecey didn't like when I questioned her on the way she frivolously spent her money.

"Do you want to go with me or what?"

"Okay. I'll be ready in about an hour."

"Alright, I'll be there in an hour. Bye." then she hung up.

As soon as I hung up, my phone rang again. I blew out a breath. "Why can't I get a little peace? It was my sister again. "Hello."

"Are we going to eat after?"

"It doesn't matter. I'm going with you. You decide."

"Okay, we're going to eat. See you when I get there."

As soon as I hung the phone up, it rang again. "Oh, my goodness, what?"

"And please don't wear one of those frumpy ass sweat suits. Put something on that will show you have curves. You need to find a man, and you won't find one dressing like an old maid." she said smartly.

I didn't even give her the satisfaction of a reply; I just said, "Bye." and then I hung up. No sooner as I hung up, the phone rang again. I pushed to talk, and the speaker and yelled out. "Look, if you mention one more thing about how I dress or anything about me needing to find a man, matter of fact, if you mention anything else that will piss me off. I am going to stick my foot right up your ass when you get here!"

"I would hate to be whoever you think that I am."

Damn, it was Terrence. I was a little taken aback, then I said, "I have to start looking at my caller ID. I swear I never even think to look at it." I said with an embarrassed voice.

"That's okay. Everyone needs to vent in some way, besides, I kind of like it. I enjoy your little feisty side."

I thought to myself is he flirting with me, or is he just being funny? Then I said, "I'm sorry my sister is getting on my nerves. She just doesn't know when to quit."

"Well, if it means anything, I think that you dress very well. Any man would be crazy not to want be with you."

"Yeah, well, tell that to my sister and my foolish ass soon to be ex-husband," I said with a little sadness in my voice.

"You know everyone isn't as smart as you and me, so you just have to take the not so smart ones as they are," he said with calming laughter. I have to admit that it did calm me down a little. "Are you busy?" he asked.

I smiled like a child. "No, not really. Why, what's up?"

"I was just calling to give you your appointment for next month officially. You are still going to be my first patient, right? "

"Yes, you are correct, Mr. Johnson, or should I say, Dr. Johnson? Since I'm going to trust you with something that is so special to me. I mean I do a lot with this mouth." What? That was very bad.

"You don't have to worry about it. I am good at what I do. I will be very gentle; we don't want you to lose any of your talents that you might have with your mouth."

"I'm not worried. I know that I will be in good hands."

"Okay, so the day that I open is November 15. My first appointment time is at 8:00 am. Is that good for you?"

"You're the doctor. I will be there at 8:00 am sharp. Can you text me the information?"

"Sure, I am going to the office today to put in some finishing touches. I will be sure to send it. I wouldn't want you to get lost."

"Yeah, it wouldn't look good on you if your first patient didn't show."

"Yeah, not too good. I guess I better let you go before your sister gets there."

"I forgot all about Niecey. She's going to kick my ass if I'm not ready when she gets here. Okay, I will talk to you later."

"Okay. I will be looking forward to it. I'm going to be sure to text you that information."
