For a couple of days, Jason worked as a sailor for the captains, catching fish all day and returning at night, getting paid.

The fisherman did not particularly like doing these jobs, but also did not hate them, but would prefer anything else other than what he was currently doing.

After the days of working, Jason had a day off and, for a random reason, decided to go fishing for a bit.

Jason rented a small boat and paddled 15 miles offshore, to a point where he could not see land.

After doing so, he took out a fishing pole, put a small fish on it for bait, and casted it far out, waiting for a bite.

Minutes have passed and no bite.

Half an hour passed and storms started to roll in, but still no bite.

An hour had now passed and Jason had nothing, so he started to reel in his bait back, the storm had come and heavy rain poured down on him.

Suddenly, when he reeled the line halfway to the boat, something large caught his bait and tried to snatch it off and swim away fast.

Jason stopped it with ease, for it would have been strong and difficult for an average human, but not to him.

Something was on and Jason pulled the line in with his bare hands and great strength.

As the line came close, he could see something that was not of ocean color.

It was the shape of a marlin, in fact, it was a marlin, but gold.

Jason had caught onto a Gold Marlin.

The fish tried to pull away and fight Jason, but the fisherman fought back against the creature, pulling it to his boat.

The history of Gold Marlin follows this, as the species was first discovered by a group of poor fishermen thousands of years ago.

The fish was originally thought to be some sort of otherworldly creature, but further research on it revealed that it was a different species of marlin and of this world.

The Gold Marlin's scales shimmered in the sunlight, giving it a unique golden color that set it apart from other marlin species, as well as it being four times faster and three times heavier than other marlins.

Due to its rarity and beauty, the Gold Marlin quickly became a highly sought-after catch among sport fishermen and those of wealth and even royalty.

However, due to careless fishermen, pirates, and some royalty members poaching its golden scales for large amounts of currency, the population of Gold Marlins began to decline rapidly as the years went on.

Now, very little Gold Marlin are found around the world, but some fishermen would still want to fish them for food and/or riches.

Today, however, Jason had no plans for catching a Gold Marlin, but now that he had caught one, he made a choice as to bring it in to eat and sell its scales instead of poaching it, the right thing to do.

Jason pulled the marlin close and close, almost a few feet away from his boat.

Suddenly, the Gold Marlin quit holding back and sped ahead, pulling Jason in the water.

The fisherman was being dragged along the water by the fish and he was having none of it.

Jason Rome fought back, yanking the fish close to him, the man grabbing the fish tightly with his arms, wrestling it in the water.

The Gold Marlin fought back by writhing around, eventually making itself able to swim at great speeds underwater with Jason still clinging to it.

The fisherman tried to wrestle the marlin again but could not, since the fish was stronger than the average marlin.

But that still did not stop Jason from fighting and he managed to wrestle the marlin again.

Many minutes went by and both the fisherman and the Gold Marlin fought for long periods of time, Jason wrestling it, the marlin swimming around at high speeds to try to get Jason off.

Much more time went by and they still fought, eventually coming to the point where the Gold Marlin jumped out of the water to try and get Jason off.

The fisherman still hung on, wrestling the fish and being dragged by it.

You're wasting my time, fish. Jason thought, Stop this!

The marlin still swam around, Jason still wrestling it.

Eventually, Jaosn got tired of this stormy ocean battle with the marlin.

When the Gold Marlin jumped out of the water, Jason raised a fist in the air and, before the fish could plunge itself back into the water, punched the surface of the ocean so hard that it launched both him and the fish high up into the air, way above the waters.

Jason then brought the fish away from it, holding it tight, and punching it hard in the face once, killing it instantly.

He grunted, saying, "It didn't have to be like this, fish."

After this, Jason let himself fall down into the water.

He then swam to his small boat with the Gold Marlin, placing it down, and paddling back to Dead Man's Shoal as the storm began to die down and the sun shone through.

By the time Jason returned to the docks of Dead Shores, he displayed the Gold Marlin he caught to the people around.

All were in shock and cheered him on for catching such a fish, he did no like the praise he was given.

By then, one of the wealthy residents of the town came up and offered large amounts of money to the fisherman for the golden scales of the marlin.

Jason agreed to it, but suggested that he keep its meat.

After having the fish skinned and cut up by a dockworker, the wealthy resident kept its scales and gave the meat and large amounts of currency to Jason, who went home with both.

After this, Jason cooked some of the meat and ate it with some water to drink, taking the large amounts of cash to a tented village far away in the wilderness from Dead Shores and splitting it amongst the homeless who lived there.

After this, with some money still left, he went to a church that was far away on one of the beaches of the island and placed the rest of the portion of currency there, keeping a little bit of it for himself.

The fisherman could have kept all that money to get whatever he wanted, but he had everything he needed.

A house, food, water, and a job was all that he needed to live, for having extra money was nothing to him.

Jason Rome was one of the only few people in Dead Shores that actually cared about others and would give any amount of money away to the poor and homeless, even if he did not show it.

The day went on and night would eventually come.

The fisherman went to bed, ready for the coming days.
