Yama Chairo, who will be called Zangeki from now on, let out a soft sigh, putting his katana back into its sheath, the blade made from a natural alloy similar to the one that Viktor Aberg's katana was made of, except that it was a lot stronger.
The samurai then headed into his home and sat on the floor, drinking tea.
In the middle of this, a female voice spoke, "Chairo? Are you in there, my love?"
Zangeki smiled, knowing who it was: his love, his soon to be wife, 20-year-old Iruka Hinode.
Zangeki met Hinode in Hikarimachi when they were both children.
They became close friends and pretty much grew up together, doing fun activities in the wilderness, their favorite being reaching the top of the nearby mountain to see the sunset, a magnificent beauty on the horizon.
As they grew older, their friendship turned into love, and soon they decided to marry.
Both their families disapproved of their relationship at first, but after Zangeki's family and father died, Hinode's family knew that it was right for both of them to get married, as they even saw how true their love was.
Zangeki and Hinode would then keep seeing each other and eventually led to the former samurai proposing to his love, to which she said "yes."
Now, it was only just a year for them to wait until they could fully get married, the reason being they wanted to date one more year until they officially became husband and wife, and at a young age.
Zangeki said, "Yes, Hinode, I'm here. You can come in."
Hinode entered and bowed to Zangeki with a smile, sitting across the floor from him.
"Care for tea, my love?" Zangeki asked.
"I would love some tea, Chairo." Hinode answered.
Zangeki poured some tea for his lover, who drank it thankfully and enjoyed it.
The two drank tea for a little until they spoke to each other about their day, how it was, and what plans they had for their wedding.
Zangeki said, "I was thinking that our wedding could take place on that mountain we always went up to when we were kids. It was beautiful up there, seeing the sunset."
"It definitely was, Chairo." Hinode said with a smile. "I'd love for our wedding to be there."
They both smiled and then got close to each other, their faces leaning in to one another, a kiss.
Suddenly, this was all interrupted when someone called Zangeki's name from outside.
Excusing himself, the samurai went to see who it was and it was his old friend, Mizu Kesseki.
The two met when they were both training to become samurai under the same master, who was Zangeki's father.Despite their rivalry during training, they bonded over their shared love for swordsmanship and eventually became close friends, often practicing and sparring together in their free time.
However, all of those times when Kesseki wanted to be a samurai at that time, he would later resign from that passion and instead become a farmer for his family.
With this change, the two remained close friends and Chairo would help Kesseki in the fields from time to time.
Zangeki went outside to his old friend with his arms folded and a smile on his face.
The samurai walked up to his friend and bowed, saying, "Hello, Kesseki. What brings you here?"
His friend responded with, "Oh nothing, just coming to check on you and see how you were doing, as well as something I want you to take care of."
"Really? What is it that you want me to do?"
Kesseki said, "A couple hours ago, one of the local residents here were robbed by several bandits on their way home from fishing at the beach, all of their belongings and catches were stolen. Do you think you can go ahead and find them and get their stuff back?"
"Geez, that would be pretty hard to do. They left a couple of hours ago, so they're probably already long gone by now." Zangeki replied, "But if you want me to find them, I'll go try."
Kesseki smiled and chuckled. "That's good, Zangeki, really good. Now, you're pretty fast on your feet, right? You'll probably find them in no time with your speed." he said.
"I don't like to brag about my genetic abilities." Chairo replied. "Let Hinode inside know that I've gone to do something and that I'll be back in a short while."
Kesseki nodded and bowed, watching Zangeki run forward and out of the town, slowly speeding up until he ran at a speed that was leagues faster than that of a horse.
He was determined to go find and return the belongings back to those residents of Hikarimachi.
