PAENG’s POV

“Leave me alone!”, yun ang last words na narining ko kay Tin Tin nung mga bata pa kami.

Nung mga bata kami, I made the mistake of hurting her and letting her go. Kasi ba naman, malay ko ba na totoong love ko pala sya. Eh ang sarap lang naman niyang asarin dati. Nakakatuwa naman kasi ang taba nya. Para siyang teddy bear. Mali! Teddy pig. May ganon ba? Pero magandang mestizang teddy pig ha.

Akala niya hindi ako nasaktan sa nangyari sa amin sa beach? Ano kala nya sakin? Manhid?

It was my first kiss too. I felt every tingle and every damn sensation na sumiksik sa mga ugat ko! But it was too late. Dapat kasi bago pa dumating sila Jake and Paul, hinalikan ko na. Para narealize ko kaagad na hindi pala joke yun nararamdaman ko. Eh pero wala eh. Toooo late.

Pag-uwi namin ng Manila, nagkita ulit kami ni Denise. Pero nawala yung gusto ko sa kanya. Yung sparks na dati akala ko fireworks, nawala. Kaya I never asked her to be my girlfriend. And I don’t think she would even want me to be her boyfriend.

Almost every single night during my first year in college, kausap ko si Denise, and would you believe, ang dati kong nililigawan ang naging bestfriend ko. I told her everything about my dear Tin Tin. And her only advise was to tell her. Go to her daw and apologize and tell her that I love her!

God! Is she nuts? Oo, mahal ko si Tin Tin, pero ayoko pang mamatay. Im sure she will kill me the moment I come to see her. Much more talk to her and tell her about my feelings.

Tagal ko na naghihintay. 6 years. Well, it was not purely waiting, I had girlfriends.. Pero none of them was serious. Mostly, companion. Date kapag may special occasion. Kasama pag breaktime. Kasabay pag umuwi. Pero all are just my friends. Yes, I kissed each and every one of them. But just that. I never went further.

And then, like each and every one of these girlfriends, they left left me. May mga hinahanap sila sa relationship naming na hindi nila makukuha sakin. L.O.V.E.

I don’t mind that they all left me. Mas Masaya naman sila where they are and who they are with. Pero ako, I will never be happy. Unless I get HER. My dear Cristin.

Buti na lang din mejo busy kami ni Jake sa business namin. Until one day, umikot ang mundo ko with just one call.

“Pare, are you in Paradiso?”, sabi agad ni Jake nang sagutin ko ang phone.

“Yes Bro, why?”, sabi ko naman.

“Okay, this is a bit of a rush, pero im sure ill be doing you a favor.”, sabi ulit ni Jake sa kabilang linya.

“Ano ba yun, Bro?”, tanong ko ulit.

“Paul finally got Rosie to talk of Tin Tin’s whereabouts.”

“Talaga?!”, finally! Tagal ko na kayang hinihintay malaman kung nasaan siya. Its been six years, madami nang nagbago. Siguro naman napatawad na niya ko.

“Oo pare, and I went ahead with my own plans, for you. Travel Agency pala ang business niya. And she’s coming over in 2 hours time today for a week. I made an appointment to meet her kasi for free publicity na din ng Paradiso and lahat na din ng resorts natin after that. Pero ang main point, is para magkaayos na kayo.”

Nataranta ko, 2 hours andito na siya. It hit me. Yung 6 years na hinintay ko, hindi pa yata enough para maging ready ako na harapin siya. Nag chichicken out ako men!
