"Katy!" Madeline shouted, then turning to Shang who was just done throwing another man off the ledges "Shang!"
She tried to go over to her friend but more men surrounded her. She had to act quickly as the bamboo holding Katy was beginning to fray. Her friend was inching closer to falling due to the pressure of her weight . Shang, having heard Madeline, made his way as fast as he could to Katy only to have a man stand in front of him.
Katy's pole finally snapped and Madeline screamed when her friend's body fell down the building floors when Shang tried to hold onto their friend but was electrocuted and dropped her.

Right before Katy fell to far, Xialing appeared out of nowhere and caught Katy with her legs, swinging her onto the bamboo ledge. Madeline jumped down to the level where Shang, Xialing and Katy were. Shang slid his arm around her waist to steady her as she stumbled a bit.
"Thanks" she muttered to him.
"N...no problem" Shang stuttered and then turned to shout at his sister "You left us for dead!"
"Now you know how it feels" Xialing replied, kicking a man in the face, and pushing him off the scaffolding.
Shang pushed another man down to the floor and was about to question him when Xialing pushed the man down the building.
"Has America made you soft?" the woman asked her brother, making Madeline quirk her eyebrow at the statement.
There were now very few men left conscious and just as Madeline was about to unfurl her whip to finish the last of them, Xialing shouted out when a man in warrior clothes and white full faced mask jumped down to her.
"He has the pendant!" the woman shouted.
Madeline watched as Shang jumped back inside the building to the ninja man. She climbed onto it and helped Katy on as well by holding onto her arm.
Xialing herself got in alone but just as they were about to follow behind Shang, more men rushed inside and grabbed their arms, taking them behind their backs.
"Lasciami stare Figlia di puttana! Lascia andare, lascia andare!" she hissed at them as she, Xialing and Katy were led away (Leave me alone motherfucker! Let go, let go!").
An older Asian man with resemblance to Shang ordered the men to bring them with him and they were all taken to the room where Shang was holding down the masked man
"Shang!" Katy and Madeline shouted to grab his attention.
"I told you; you couldn't kill him even if you tried" the man said as Shang froze, letting the man beneath him get out from under him.

The helicopter ride to the Xu residence was tense. The two siblings clearly didn't want to go to their old home and the fact that their father sat in front of them and was keeping an intense stare on Madeline and Katy.
The Italian woman kept herself from looking away like Katy did until Shang discretely touched his pinky finger to her hand's side.

After they pulled up to the side of a mountain the helicopter landed.
"My son is home" the father exclaimed, the men. The men united there bowed their heads low "Take the girls to their room"
The girls were led to Xialing's room which was more disorganized than Madeline had thought it would have been for a girl as serious as Xialing.
"I've seen some really scary stuff this week, but your dads on, like, a whole another level. Is he gonna kill us?" Katy asked as she sat down on the couch.
"Just nod. Don't talk. He'll forget you're there" Xialing said stiffly "That's how I survived"
"He always treat you like that?" Madeline asked, feeling rather sad for the woman.
"Only after my mom died. He said he couldn't look at me because I reminded him of her" Xialing said sadly "I wasn't allowed to train with the boys. But I watched everything they did and taught myself to do it better"
"When did you leave?" Katy asked the younger of the two siblings as she looked up at her.
"I ran away when I was 16. As Soon as I knew my brother wasn't coming back" Xialing explained.
"You started an underground fight ring in Macau when you were 16 years old?" Katy asked her in surprise.
"If my dad won't let me into his empire, I'm gonna build my own" Xialing said as she raised her head high.
"Hell yeah" Katy nodded in agreement, receiving a smile from the other woman.
Madeline agreed with her.
They were called to dinner not too long after they were being held in the room.

The beginning of the dinner was silent before Shang got curious.
"How did you find me?" he asked his father.
"I always know where my children are" the man responded honestly "I gave you 10 years to live your life, and where did it get you?" he paused and looked at his son "Now it's time for you to take your place by my side"
"That's not gonna happen" from under the table, Madeline saw Shang's hand curl up in a tight fist. She placed her hand over his own under the table, a familiar notion she did often when he was nervous or, mad like in this case.
"American girl" Wenwu turned to Katy.
"Her name is Katy" Madeline said under her breath as Shang said it out loud.
"What is your Chinese name?" Wenwu ignored his son's remark.
Katy looked at Xialing as she remembered her words before answering.
"Ruiwen" she responded quickly so as to draw the attention away from herself.
"Names are sacred, Ruiwen" the man continued "They connect us not only to ourselves, but to everyone who came before. A funny story. Some years ago, a terrorist from America needed a bogeyman to bring your country to its knees. So, he appropriated The Ten Rings. My Ten Rings" Madeline saw Shang lean his head on his arms over the table in boredom "But because he didn't know my actual name, he invented a new one. Do you know the name he chose? The Mandarin. He gave his figurehead the name of a chicken dish. And it worked. America was terrified. Of an orange"
Katy chuckled nervously as the man introduced himself as the known terrorist.
"The truth is, I've had many names throughout my life. The Warrior King, Master Khan, the most dangerous man on Earth. For years, I thought that was all I was meant to be. But when I met their mother, everything changed" the man's eyes changed at the mention of his wife "Just one moment. Who are you?" he asked Madeline as if just now seeing her.
