Madeline Liu moved with her mother to San Francisco at a very young age after her father died. When she was grown and after the death of her mother, which left her all alone, she got a job as a valet parking cars where she made friends with...
Madeline watched as a huge Chinese dragon rose from the depths of the water, Shang Chi holding onto its sides as the large dragon opened its huge maw and flew into the skies, swallowing the smaller groups of soul suckers.
"Shang!" Madeline shouted.
"Draw" Guang Bo ordered again loudly, the archers following his commands and directing their bows higher to the sky.

"Fire!"
The arrows flew killing the many of the souls suckers mid-air, the shields at the front of the line keeping them safe from the attacks.
Nan and Guang Bo fought side by side, taking turns at terminating the creatures in their close vicinity, watching each other's back.
Madeline and Xialing both snapped their long weapons in the air, killing a lot of the small soul suckers and keeping them away from the others.
"You have to stop your father!" Yang Nan told Shang Chi as the Protector sailed closer, circling them.

Shang Chi nodded to his aunt, and caught Madeline's eyes momentarily before he held on tighter as the Protector swung to the side and it spun towards the mountain where the Dark Gate was.
When the dragon sailed close enough, Shang Chi ran down its long serpentine body and jumped back onto the mountain to continue facing off with his father.
He landed between his father and the wall Wenwu was still trying to break down, kicking the older man down before the man with the Ten Rings had the chance to throw another hit to the wall.
Wenwu was thrown back from the wall by his son. Wenwu glared up at the intrusion, he slowly got up with an unfaltering expression.
The Protector headed back down to where the village was to help the villagers get rid of the rest of the suckers.
"She's not back there, Dad" Shang Chi tried to reason with his father, waling forward, trying to put more space between his father and the wall.
"Get out of my way, boy" Wenwu spoke in a bitter tone as he threatened his son.
"No" Shang Chi rushed at his father with new found energy.

Xialing saw as large groups of smaller soul suckers attacked the eyes of the Protector and she threw up her weapon, killing all of them and freeing the Protector. It turned to look at her.
"Come on Xialing" Madeline motioned for the other woman, who had frozen as the Protector flew closer down, to follow her.
She whipped her weapon into the air, catching one of the many long tuffs of the dragon's mane with it and holding Xialing with one hand as the two of them swung up onto the Protector's back.

A small DiJiang sniffed around the fallen bodies, whimpering out loud when he saw the limp body of Trevor Slattery.
The man lifted his upper body as he awoke and shushed Morris silent.
"Calm down mate" he told him "I'm not dead. It's just a performance. Now get down here and play along"
The DiJiang trilled in understanding and he too laid down belly up besides his friend.

Wenwu shot the rings at his son, Shang Chi moving away from them with precision and fluidity. He spun in mid-air and took control of the five rings that had come at him with the same action his mother had used on Wenwu when they had first met, the glow of the rings turning from blue to golden as they circled his form.
Not giving up despite missing half of his rings, Wenwu continued to fight his son. Shang Chi blocked all of his father's attacks with his new rings. The rings tied together, both the men pulling as hard as they could to regain control.

Wenwu shot the remaining rings at Shang Chi and a thick layer of dust raised off the ground. When the dust lifted, Shang Chi could be seen, controlling the remaining rings. He brought them together, creating a deadly spiral.

As Wenwu waited for the attack to hit him, Shang Chi simply threw the rings to the ground.
Shang sighed out in fatigue as he looked at his father.
"I have to save her" Wenwu replied sadly "She's calling for me"
"I wish that were true" Shang responded shakily. Wenwu shook his head in denial "Dad please. Your family needs you"
Wenwu seemed to be considering it until a whisper sounded in the air making his head snap back to the gates.

As Madeline and Xialing mounted the Protector, the first one felt another surge through her, a painful one as the one she had felt back when the gate had begun being attacked.
"It's too late" she told the other woman, and the dragon who roared out "E questo è un grande motherfucker" she whispered out (And that is one big motherfucker).
The gates fell open, the scales forming it turning dull as they fell open. A creature larger than even the great Protector and with long tentacles for legs slamming out of it.

Down on the ground, Ying Nan and Katy looked up at the sky, same as the rest of the people fighting the soul suckers.
"And that is one big motherfucker" Katy said, not knowing that she had repeated the words of her friend that was flying on the dragon above them.

"Shit" Shang Chi said in English as he too looked upon the terrifying creature.
Wenwu took one look at the giant Soul Sucker, the Dark One, and he leapt into action. Calling the rings to him, he tried to attack it, the thing screeching and throwing itself at him and his son as they slid away.
Wenwu took one look at his son of goodbye as one of the Dark One's tentacles grabbed him around the torso, flailing him around.
Shang took the rings his father slid off to him as he was brought up to the Dark One's malformed mouth.
Shang Chi and Wenwu shared one look as the father had his soul sucked out of him. Shang fell to the ground as his father's limp body dropped down and the Dark One slammed the mountain side making the rocks cover the gate that had held it for so long.
