And who could say no to Dorcas? It had been a stressful week.

"What are you doing?" Barty asked as Regulus poured himself a shot.

"Pre gaming." Regulus deadpanned

"No need, Gryffindor will be stocked. They always are." Barty said, re-corking the bottle.

"Yeah, well, if I have to pretend that I'm not obsessed with James, I'm going. To need a few drinks first." Regulus said with a huff.

"Finally, he admits to the obsession." Dorcas laughed at the comment. Regulus threw a dirty look at Evan.

"You don't have to pretend." Dorcas said a bit reassuringly. "Not really, it's mostly our friends anyway." When had his friend group gotten so large? His instincts said trust no one. But his heart had other ideas.

"Come on Reg, you've got to let me do something. At least eyeliner." She urged shaking him by the arm.

"Fine." he said, yielding to the Slytherin girl.  She pushed him back into a seated position on the nearest bed.

"Okay, hold still."She instructed as she rummaged through her makeup bag.

"Now, if only I could convince you to let me touch that hair." She said, pulling out a small black tube.

"No fucking way." He said with a scowl. Nobody messed with his hair.

"Don't blink," Dorcas warned before   she came at him with the pencil. It was all fun and games until she came for his waterline.

"Don't blink!" She said, frustrated.

"I'll do it then." Regulus told her. taking the pencil to the bathroom mirror.

"Just the outer corner." She told him. As he gently pulled at his eyelid.

"That's good!" Dorcas told him encouragingly. " You look great." She said, giving him a genuine smile. And for some reason he returned it.

"Now, what are you going to wear." She asked him. He looked down at his simple outfit. A white button-up and black dress pants.

"This?" He said, unsure.

"Oh, Regulus." She said, tutting." I thought you had better taste." He snorted at the hoking insult. Dorcas took it upon herself to go through his closet to find a ' more suitable outfit.'

He would have cared what he looked like if it wasn't for a school function with a bunch of Gryfindors.

Se returned with a cropped sweater. The docs Sirius had bought him for his 15th birthday and a pair of slightly fired black muggle jeans.

"Where's your jewelry?"  she asked, depositing the clothes on the bed for him. He pointed to the dresser in the corner.   She went through the small black box, setting a few rings on the smooth wooden surface of the dresser.

"Well, we don't have all day Black." She said, looking at the stack of clothing.

He had to give it to her, she had an eye for fashion. He could always count on her for good advice on an outfit.

"We're going to nip up to the boys' dorm first for a little while." Dorcss said, adjusting her skirt. 'We're helping set up." Her shoes squeaked against the stone floor, he shuddered at the sound adjusting his stride to avoid the noise.  The fat lady begrudgingly let the four Slytherins into the Gryffindor common room.

The marauders dorm was a mess, filled with boxes of things for the party. Not to mention the crowd of nearly ten in a room meant for three to four people.
