*this will be a long chapter, enjoy*
9:30pm
As you can see, I showed up to this little shindig, but they had good music playing which was a plus. Instead of red solo cups they had pink. Instead of twerking (which I don't mind) they were intentionally feeling every word as it slipped from Alex Isley's mouth. Instead of me trying to find a girl to exchange stares with, I've been staring at one girl since I arrived, and she's never looked my way.
Plopping onto the side of me "You good, you been eyeing my friend for a minute now". D looks at me. "Why don't you get up and say something Lani?"
Ignoring him I continue scrolling on my phone. "Kinda crazy cause you said you wasn't a lesbian." He continues. Want me to introduce you?" He asked smiling.
"No Destin, I'm good. How about you go pour me up one?" I ask trying to get him away.
"You never have to ask me twice and I might even drink yours while I'm over there sooo see you at the end of tonight.. if that." He sticks his tongue out switching away.
Tori
"Hey Destin babe, how are tonight?" I ask hugging him.
"Not bad at all T, yourself?" He takes a shot.
"I'm okay. Thanks for letting me and Omari come." I say sincerely.
"Oh yeah, Hey Omari." He looks at him up and down. "I gotta go Tori, I'll holla later." He said taking off to the dance floor.
Knowing I'm being stared at from the back, I turn around attempting to give Omari a kiss, but he dodged it, getting up and walking away not even looking back at me.
"Lemme get whatever Destin just had times four please." I tell the bartender as they nodded.
Kehlani
a couple of minutes later...
"You good?" I walked up to the bar sipping my drink.
"I'm fine. Who are you? I never seen you around here. Do you know Destin?" She asks not even looking my way.
"You're not. Lani. Just moved here like 2 days ago. Not really he just invited me which is crazy cause he barely even knows me." I answer each question.
"I'm not? I'm fine Lani, thank you." She scoffs.
The way Lani rolled off her lips put me in a daze. I wanted to hear it again, forever.
"What's your name?" I asked impatiently.
"Tori."
I nod looking away.
1:45am
I just watched her stumble onto the couch then continued to find D to say bye and ask what he's gonna do about Tori.
"Hey! You seen Destin?!" I asked someone random, and they nod to a door. "Thanks." I nod.
"D! Destin! I'm finna leave so what are we doing about Tor-" I aggressively open the door quickly trying to unsee what I just saw. "OMG!" I say closing the door quickly going over to Tori.
I heard the door open "Lani supposedly you're straight so let's not act like you never seen the goodies before." He said slurring before going on. "Take her home with you and figure it out in the morning, Love you! Bye!" He slammed the door resuming.
She's full out drunk and can barely walk, not to mention the dude she came here with is no longer here like-
"Lannnniiii" she yelled out while I walk her to my car.
"Yes?" I wait for her to talk which she never did.
Putting her in the car she continued to just murmur. I then started the car, and we were on our way.
Home - 2:40am
I only had a one bedroom, so she had to sleep in my bed. I'll be good on the couch.
"Lani where are you going?" she asked getting comfortable.
"To get a snack, go to sleep." I say turning off the lights and closing the door.
Walking to the kitchen I go open some flamin' hot cool ranch Doritos and take a few bites before overthinking.
Why did her dude just leave her there? Is he sane? Am I sane for taking her home with me? Lani what are you doing?
On cue, I hear her footsteps. Not even looking her way "Why are you up?" I ask rolling my eyes taking a few bites of my Doritos.
"I'm lonely Lani" she says seductively.
"I have absolutely nothing to do with that Tori, go back to bed." I say still not looking her way.
"Why aren't you looking my way, Lani?" She cries out asking.
"You didn't look my way the whole night Tori, you didn't even notice me." I say calmly.
She takes the bag out chips put out my hand "I do now Lani."
I look her way and she moves closer to me dangerously. She must know that my name slipping from her mouth makes me weak.
"No." I say calmly looking away. "Yes" she says moving my face back so I'm staring at her.
"Yes".
