I forgot to tell y'all I'm a photographer and I got a client like last week. Today is a beautiful day in Miami and I have a shoot with a girl named Bre. She's a local artist here and I think it will be a nice opportunity to network in this environment.
I was hired on to take photos while she's performing at the MadeinMiami festival, and I guess this event is put on every year featuring up and coming artist of color.
I decided to wear all black while it is kind of breezy today with all silver glasses just for better vision while taking pictures. "Looking good" I say giving myself one last look in the mirror before heading out.
10:20am
At the festival
"O me goshh is that the infamous Lani?!" D sees me through his phone and turns around as I'm walking up and gives me a hug.
"In the flesh" I laugh.
At the corner of my eye, I see Tori coming our way. I'm not dealing with the situation today, I wanna be focused as this is my first client in Miami. I'll simply keep it cordial.
"I'm excited for you Lani! Even though I come to this festival every year, this is big for you. What's your clients name again?" He asks sipping his drink looking at the many men walking by us.
"Her name is Bre, she's a New Orleans native and has really-"
"Hey guys!" Tori excitingly says at me and D.
"Hey gorrrrlllaaaa, how are you pretty?!" D asks yelling giving her a hug.
"Hey. I'm gonna go look for Bre to get things straight before she gets on" I say quickly ready to leave.
"Ok girl, have fun! I probably won't see you later tonight so huggies!!" He yells coming in and hugging me tightly.
"Bet, have fun guys and D wear protection." I don't wait for a reply as I just walk off.
