Recovery Part 6 (Four Swords)

Shadow's pov:

Red stayed here, despite being calm again. Filling in the silence with random gossip. I only half listened, not really understanding much. 'Gah the light world is so confusing.' I was starting to feel exhausted, but I didn't show any of it. Despite the fact I didn't understand much if anything, I liked the noise it made. Being in a cell for goddesses know how long, really does stuff to your brain. And the silence, oh Din the silence that comes with it, that alone can send a person to insanity. '.....Is that what happened to Vaati? Got stuck in silence for too long? It'd certainly explain things.' A tap on my shoulder snapped me back to reality. I looked beside me to Red looking at me. 'Uh crud, did he ask me something?'

Red stared at me expectantly for a second, before slapping a hand against his head. "Oh my gosh! I'm sooo sorry! I completely forgot you can't talk!" Red flushed from embrassmented, I shrugged it off, not really caring. "Give me a sec." Red said while sliding off the bed. Going over to the table by the bed, he opened a drawer and pulled something out. He hopped on the bed, having way too much energy. "Here, so you can actually talk!" He said while smiling. 'Too much enthusiasm... There's no way that's real.' I rolled my eyes but took the things he offered.

I've seen Vaati and Vio use this before. I personally never have. They used the pencil to write something on the paper, Vio once said it was called writing. I've never done it, and Vio doesn't know that. He was talking to a Hinxoe at the time, I just overheard. I just gave them back to Red, and shrugged. 'Hopefully he gets the hint.' Unfortunately he didn't, he looked confused and slightly hurt, but put them back on the table. 'Man is that kid sensitive.' Thankfully Red didn't burst into tears, like I've seen him do a gazillion times. 'Yeah it was through the Mirror, but still.' Red didn't focus on it long, and began to blabber on again.

Link's Dad's pov:

Red ran off sometime during Blue, Green, and Vio's fight. At first we weren't too concerned, Red ran off a lot when fighting got loud. But as time dragged on, he didn't show back up. Worried we spread out to check the castle. I was checking around the kitchen when I saw a maid. "Excuse me miss." I called out to her. Thankfully she heard me and stopped, allowing me to catch up. "What can I do for you Captain?" She asked smiling slightly. "Sorry for bothering you, but have you seen where my one son went, he's dressed in Red." The smile dropped from her face. "Yes, I saw him running to where the monster is being held." She explained. "Monster?" She nodded before explaining. "The heros shadow, I saw him run there. Please tell me you're going to execute him soon. He gives me the creeps, a creature from the dark world never means good." I nodded, hiding the slight anger that came. "Thank you mam." I thanked her before walking away, ignoring her question over an execution. 'I don't understand. Why was I angry when she talked that way? He's not my kid, and he deserves every word. So why did I feel anger?"

I dismissed my thoughts and opened Shadow Link's door. My hand on my sword, ready for the worst. But that wasn't what I was met with. Both Shadow Link and Red were in the room, and surprisingly they both were asleep. Red cuddled against Shadow Link in his sleep. I walked closer, removing my hand from my hilt. They both were out, Shadow Link didn't even look like a threat. Curled in on himself slight, resting on his side. It seemed like he was trying to take up as little space as possible without hurting himself. I sighed knowing there's no point in trying to remove Red. Once he clings to someone, especially when he's alseep, there's no way in Hylia you're getting him off. I grabbed a stray blanket and covered them both with it. Before taking my leave, one last glance at the sleeping boys. 'How did Red fall asleep next to him. He's innocent and naive, but he knows not to fall asleep near the enemy.' I guess Vio may be right. It seems like Shadow Link does have more behind the scenes.
