Green's pov:

Once the healers stopped fussing over the four of us, we set off to find Zelda. Who we found in the library. She heard our entry and put down the book she was reading and stood up. A soft smile formed. "Good to see you four back in one piece." Zelda bit her lip nervous about the next part. "I heard you got him. Is he really in as bad condition as they say he is?" Worry filled her voice. I glanced at Vio to see him staring at the floor. He was definitely hiding most of his feelings but his own worry and fear could be seen in his eyes. Vio definitely wanted to rush to the room they took Shadow to. The rest of us were worried no doubt but none of us could understand Vio's level of worry. We never got to know Shadow. He died in the light world before we could. But Vio did. When he temporarily turned traitor he befriended Shadow. He knew Shadow. We didn't.

I realized Zelda was still waiting for an answer. Red and Blue glancing at me wait for me to answer. "Sorry. But unfortunately yes... he's hurt pretty bad." Zelda's face turn solemn and she nodded slowly. "I'm sorry to hear that." I nodded in agreement. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Red tearing up. Zelda also noticed. "Well I guess you four should go check on him. Have you told your father yet?" The four of us exchanging nervous glances answered her. Zelda chuckled slightly. She rolled her eyes before saying. "You may want to go do that." The four of us had the same sheepish smile on our faces. I chuckled with Zelda before turning to Vio. "Why don't you go check on Shadow. While Red, Blue and I go talk to dad." Vio smiled slightly and nodded in agreement. We bowed to Zelda and then left. Vio left to see Shadow while the rest of us went to find dad.

Vio's pov:

I opened the door nervously and slid in. It was really dark in here. Probably so Shadow doesn't get further hurt. 'Surprised they remember.' I walked over to the bed and sat down by Shadow. His breathing has even out slightly. Bandages covered the entire upper left side of his face and his arms were also covered. His clothes were ruined so they changed him into a loose white shirt that hung off of him revealing the bandages on his chest. I felt tears forming in my eyes, and brushed them away using my sleeve. Guilt ate away at my conscience. 'I should have known he was probably lying about not being hurt to bad...' I should have got to him sooner. I played a hand on his shoulder while tears ran down my face.

Green's pov:

We found of that Dad was in the stable and nervously made our way there. Once it was around the corner we nervously nodded at each other and stepped in. Dad immediately looked to see us entering. "I was just about to go looking for you four. Where's Vio?" "He's in another part of the castle Dad." Red said. His nervousness was obivious by his voice alone. Dad's face soften slightly. "He's with Shadow Link isn't he?" "Wait you know?" Blue joined in. Dad nodded slightly. "Do you three actually think that one of the guard wouldn't tell me that my sons went into the dark world? And they came out with Shadow." "Yeah we should've expected this..." I mummered. Blue and Red nodded in agreement. Dad walked up to us and kneeled down to our level. "You wanna explain?" I nodded and began. "Well a few days ago Vio found a spell that could let a creature from the dark world temporarily into the light world through a shadow. He was worried about Shadow so he did it. They tried talking but it didn't work. So I came in and Vio left. I found out that Shadow was in trouble because Vaati had him, which is why Vio was so frustrated. We wanted to help so we got Zelda's help and went to get him." Once I finished Dad nodded slowly still processing everything. "Alright alright. I understand why you did it, your knights after all. I also know that Shadow helped you. So I'll give him a chance. But if he tries anything to endanger you four or the kingdom he will be killed. Fair enough?" Red, Blue and I exchanged looks. 'It's the best we're gonna get.' "Deal!" Red's cheerful voice said. Dad nodded stood up and ruffled each of our heads. "Shall we go tell Vio." He said. We nodded in agreement and went to the room Shadow was in.

Their dad's pov: (as far I noticed they never said his name sooo)

I was skeptical due to the amount of damage Shadow had done, but in the end he did help defeat Vaati. This is the only reason I'm giving him a shot. 'If he tries anything to hurt my boys I will slaughter him.' He will not harm my family. Green opened the door and we walked into the dark room. Vio was already there sitting beside Shadow. His head turned and saw us enter. "Hey Dad...." he greeted. I nodded in return noting how around his eyes were slightly red. Green and Red climbed ontop of the bed and sat around Shadow. I walked up to the bedside hand on my sword hilt unconsciously. Shadow layed unconscious and really banged up. 'This is probably the first good look I got of him..' With this in mind I looked over the kid. Dull purple hair barely reaching his chin in length and was sloppily covering places in his face. It was odd to see it against his skin which is worryingly pale. Almost as white as the bandages covering him. His arms were completely covered but not enough to restrict all movement. The upper left portion of his face was covered. He was wearing a white shirt that hung off of him revealing the bandages underneath. "This Vaati really did a number on him huh?" I mummered aloud. I couldn't ignore the spike of pity for the poor kid. 'He's only as old as the others." All four of my children nodded slowly. The other three exchanged glances and looks but Vio's gaze was firmly on his friend. I places my hand on his shoulder. "Vio let's have a walk. Shall we?" I phrased it as question but it truly wasn't. Vio saw this is took one more glance at his wounded friend before reluctantly sliding off. Following me outside the castle.

Vio's pov:

I didn't want to leave Shadow alone. I knew chances are he won't wake up yet but.... I just don't want to leave him alone. "So want to tell me about your friend?" Dad's voice broke my thoughts. "Shadow?" I knew he's asking about him but it shocked me he was. "Yes. Green mentioned how you knew him the best." I nodded unsure where to begin. Dad directed us to the woods and had me sit on a stump while he sat on the ground cross-legged. "I don't exactly know where to start." I actually did but they were all things that Shadow's sensitive about and didn't like being mentioned. "Why don't you start on how he acts when you first meet him and continue from there." Dad suggested. I nodded and took a deep breath. "Well when you first meet Shadow he's a little rude. He has a tendency to bottle things like I do sometimes. The only difference is he does it more than me. He doesn't like pity so if you show that to him even if you know him well, he'll get ticked." Dad chuckled slightly. "Seems like we're going to have another Blue for a little." I didn't stop the laughter from leaving me. "Yeah for a little. But he smooths out once you get to know him." Dad nodded encouraging me to continue. "It's pretty hard to get Shadow's trust but he really lightens up when you do. He still doesn't like expressing himself but he will occasionally let down a wall or two. But...." I trailed off unsure if I wanted to say the next part.

Their dad's pov:

Vio trailed off uncertainly. I placed my hand on his shoulder offering comfort and support. "But?" Vio took and uncertain breath. "Well.... he has down some...... harmful things to himself.... he's really insecure about them though and asked me not to tell anyone.. I know I already betrayed him once but this is really sensitive to him." Vio was obviously choosing his words with great care. "Alright. If it's sensitive ground for him than you don't have to tell me. I'll just keep an eye on him somehow." I was proud that Vio respected Shadow's privacy and space unlike any of the others would. Blue would spill simply cuz he didn't care, Red would so we could get him help and offer more support, and Green would probably accidentally slip up. Vio nodded relieved. "Chances are Shadow's gonna have to bunk up with someone. Would you mind if he bunked with you? He definitely has familiar ground with you and you understand what gets his nerves." " I don't think he would like that.... I did betray him.." I understood Vio's uncertainty. "We'll see how he acts around you when he wakes up then." Vio nodded in agreement. "We should probably head back." I announced and stood up. Vio stood up with me and we started on our way back.
