My legs ached barley able to carry me any farther.
My eyes burned from crying for hours.
My entire body shook as I stopped by the nearest tree. I leaned against it trying to catch my breath. I heaved letting myself fall to the frigid ground.
It had to be around midnight now. The moon's weak glow was barely visible through the thickness of the Dark Forest.
I grasped my cloak, freezing. In hindsight, I should have prepared more. After all I knew I could never go back home. Hyrule Castle would be just a distant dream now.
"Din's fire," I said still out of breath.
Within a second, a red flame appeared into my hand. Its light and warmth were comforting. But I knew this was going to be a long night.

"Good morning, Princess," a smug voice sounded from above.
My eyes shot open knowing that voice. I tried to get up, but I realized that my wrists were tied together. I didn't try to fight the rope binding them, knowing it was useless.
"What do you want with me? Haven't I already done enough for you? And rope, really? Don't you think that's a little excessive?" I asked bitterly still lying on the forest floor.
The dark prince smirked as he grabbed me by my wrists to pull me to my feet.
"Charming as always," he hummed contently. "I was beginning to think you wouldn't come to see me."
I was about to respond when the ground beneath us began to shake. I looked to Dark in horror. He silently pressed me against his chest as we braced ourselves.
The sky darkened and thunder clouds began to form. The ground began to split apart quickly making its way towards us and I struggled to stay on my feet.
Dark unsheathed his sword as a cloud of dust and fog enveloped us.
"Hya!"
Link's form jumped through the fog and his mighty sword came in contact with the crumbling ground. Dark forced us to jump back to avoid Link's strike, and I heard him growl as Zelda appeared in the thick fog.
I looked into Link and Zelda's eyes. I wanted nothing more than to run to them, but I knew I could never go back to them. I had forsaken them and there was no turning back now.
"Release her!" Zelda demanded.
"You are in no position to ordering me around. Besides I think (Name) prefers my company."
Dark wrapped his arm around my waist, pressing my back against him. In a way it was comforting. His little gesture, however, angered Link and Zelda further. So, they began to advance on us.
"I don't know how you escaped from Zelda's seal, but I will not hesitate to strike you down once more."
Dark chuckled darkly, " You want to tell them or should I?"
"Tell us what?" Zelda demanded her hands glowing a vibrant blue.
"I'll let you have your little heart-to-heart."
As soon as Dark disappeared in a dark mist, Zelda dropped the spell she was preparing to cast and the ground then began to regain its form, the thick fog cleared, and the sky returned to its natural blue. It was like her original attack had never even happened.
