"You really shouldn't be out this late."

I whipped my head around to where the voice came from, and I was met with a pair of red eyes. I couldn't control any feeling that flooded through me as I saw the hooded figure.

My eyes widened and my breath was taken away.

He looked exactly like Link except for the eyes, hair, and his pale skin.

"Who are you? No, don't come any closer." I said as he moved a little closer to me.

I looked down seeing the rigid and sharp rocks that lined the surface of Lake Hylia. I had been to this place so many places before. Being here at the dead of night made everything look and feel so differently.

"It's dangerous to be here at this time of the night. The monster might get you."

I laughed a bitter cold laugh.

"You think I care?" I tried to sound emotionless but the crack in my voice gave me away in an instant.

I held onto the thin railing that I sat on so harshly that my knuckles turned white. I held my breathed hearing the waves crashing against the rocks and boulders a thousand feet below us.

"You won't jump."

I turned my head again.

His entire appearance haunted me the second I did. His white hair was being softly blown so I could get a good look at his face. Every feature was identical to Link's. Looking at him reminded me of every single moment I had with Link; the good, the bad, the ugly.

"And what makes you say that? I'm pretty sure I will." I snap.

"Well, Miss..."

"(Name)."

"Well, Miss (Name), if you were going to you would have already."

The erratic beating of my heart must have distracted me since he was now standing directly behind me. His cloak was disregarded, and he wore skintight red armor. It shone in the silvery moonlight, and it really emphasized his slender frame.

He leaned against the railing himself.

"You don't know a thing about me."

"You're right I don't... And I certainly won't if you jump. Come on, don't do it. I can see it in your eyes, you don't want to."

"I don't have much of a choice." I say defeated.

"I've been alive long enough to see the same eyes in different people, you know." He started; his hoarse monotone voice soothed my ears. "I know why you're here. I wasn't just like you. I was you at a point. So, believe me when I say he's not worth doing this over."

"I didn't say anything about..." My voice gave out before I could say his name.

"You didn't have to."

I bit my lip not wanting to look him in the eyes. The stranger seemed like he could read me like a book. I felt such an array of emotions that I didn't even know which one I did in the moment.
