...

An ethereal golden light tore through the depths of the darkness.

...Open your eyes...

The light erupted and drove away the eerie darkness. I no longer felt the heaviness in my eyelids. In fact, I could feel warmth for the first time in my whole life. I felt a warmth unlike any other, yet I still felt so cold.

Soon enough, the golden light dissipated into a brilliant blue one.

Open your eyes...

Open your eyes.

My eyes slowly opened, and I was lying in a shallow pool of water. I slowly moved feeling the soreness of a hundred years. Had I never moved in my entire life?

Wake up, Link.

The world around me began to focus. The sereness of the atmosphere had me at ease. The clear blue skies with the water that sparkled in the sun's brilliant light.

Link...

I turned and saw 2 figures. Both of them were enveloped in a blue aura with small flames, green tunics, and soft yet saddened blue eyes.

They floated towards me. I should have been on edge, but for some reason I wasn't.

"Who are you?" I asked.

The shorter—not by much—one kneeled before me. His expressions were fierce and cold. I couldn't see the lightheartedness in his cerulean eyes the way I could in the other. He looked gruff and ready to fight.

We're you. You're us.

That's right, you are.

I turned my head to the spirit to my right. His soft eyes and dirty blonde hair looked so familiar like I knew him.

"What?"

We don't have time for this, Sky.

Patience, Time.

As the two argued, I looked down at the unstirring water and starring back at me was them. Not them specifically. They didn't have reflections.

I saw me. And the me I saw was an identical copy of the two.

I know all of this may be confusing to you. The nicer of the two said. But you are my descendant, and we are currently in a world between worlds.

"But... I-"

You were supposed to have died.

Time!

Well, someone had to say it and you're too much of a pushover to.

I couldn't fathom what they were even talking about. My mind was still warped around the fact I looked exactly like the two hauntingly similar spirits. Almost every detail about them mirrored my own reflection.

The one that was refered to as Sky knelt beside me and looked into my eyes. It was in that moment that I knew it. I knew everything.

They were telling me the truth. They were me.

I am Hylia's chosen hero. The one everybody in your time learned about as the defender of the great goddess and defeater of Demise. I am the one every single one of our lives is reincarnated from. I'm the one you're reincarnated from.
