"And the Homecoming King and Queen are... Link and (Name)! Let's give our Homecoming royalty a round of applause."
The crowd erupted with applause as the pair were being crowned. The applause and the screams of congratulations were immense, but I barely even noticed.
All I could focus on was (Name).
She looked like a princess from her (hair color) hair that had flowers throughout it to the marvelous lavender off the shoulder dress with floral embroidery at the hem. She was just so mesmerizing.
"That's my (Name)!" I found myself screaming at the top of my lungs.
I saw her glance my way with a faint smile when she heard my voice.
After they were crowned, Link and (Name) descended the stairs to the dance floor hand-in-hand. The music around us began to dissolve into a slow song.
Link wrapped his arms around (Name), while she held onto his shoulders.
The moment was perfect. Or at least it would have if Link looked as if he even cared about the woman in front of him.

I can't believe we're finally alone
I can't believe I almost went home
What are the chances? Everyone's dancing
And he's not with you─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
The dance raged on for what felt like years.
Homecoming was never really my thing. I just came here to support (Name).
Despite that, I was having some fun. Mipha's graceful dancing combined with Daruk's happy-go-lucky attitude made for some good company. It was even funnier when Revali tried to challenge every single person to a dance off which he mostly lost.
In the midst of one of Revali's fatal attempts to boost his ego, I saw (Name) sitting in the corner with his heels in her hand staring off in another direction.
I walked towards her. She looked exhausted.
Poor girl.
I knew exactly what she was looking at, or whom she was looking at.
Underneath the grand staircase was her date flirting with the golden haired underclassman. Link leaned against the side of the staircase, gazing into Zelda's deep blue eyes. Zelda quickly gave him a peck on the cheek.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
I could be a better boyfriend than him
I could do the s*** that he never did
Up all night, I won't quit
Thinking I'm gonna steal you from him
I could be such a gentleman Plus all my clothes would fit─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
The saddened smile that she bore as she watched them tugged at my heart. What made it worse was the corsage around her wrist that she was playing with.
Link had gotten it for her when he asked her to go to the dance with him. It hurt me to see her so distraught.
She deserves better. She really does.
I remembered the countless times she would cry to me about Link.
"He forgot our anniversary."
"He forgot my birthday, again."
"He's been seeing Zelda behind my back."
"Why doesn't he loved me anymore?"
"What's wrong with me?"
