"Lily?"

I heard a voice, and that was when I noticed it was Bellafonte in the cell beside me. Waking up, I noticed her sitting on her bed and staring at me. "What is it?" I had asked her as I had pulled back the white blanket. It was cold. "Just wanted to see if you were awake," she had told me as I had pulled the blanket around my body. Nothing was keeping me warm. "Why is it so cold in here?" I asked her, my body shivering. "Doctor Henshaw opened the back door and didn't put the vent on," Bellafonte had told me. So he basically wants us to die from hypothermia, and we all know that's fun. "Can you do something to warm us up?" I had asked Bellafonte, remembering how she had told me that she could control an element. I forget which one it is though. "Sorry I can't. Caitlin would be able to though," she had told me. Dang it. Right, yeah I control nature. Bellafonte controls water, Caitlin controls the wind, and Erica controls fire. Wait, snow is technically part of nature. So maybe what I could do is to try and melt the snow and bring the sun out, cause then that'll warm us up. Closing my eyes, I dig my hands into my bed as I focus on the ground outside of the building. It's been so long since I've been outside that I almost forget what snow looks like, but I do my best to remember it. Once I finally had the picture of it, I focused on seeing the snowmelt and the sun coming out from behind a cloud. A few seconds later, it no longer felt cold. Instead of a cold breeze, I felt the sun shining and a sunbeam coming through the back door. "What did you do?" Bellafonte had asked me when she realized that it was no longer cold. Instead of answering her question, I just looked at her. We were the only ones in the hall of cells, because Bellafonte and I were the only ones who share the same traits, while everyone else shared the same ones, so they were all gone at the same time.

"You ready for your lesson?" Bellafonte had asked me. Without answering, I grabbed my stool and faced her as she sat on her bed. She opened a little area of the wall that we shared, and she raised her hand, and a bubble of water appeared above her hand. "Now, focus your attention, and try to change it," she had told me before I focused myself on the bubble, and I had thought of a flower: a peony. The peony appeared, and she held the flower. "You're getting better. Now remember, if you focus yourself on one of the elements, you can change it into many things," Bellafonte had told me. "Even insects?" I had asked her; curious as to if I could also control them. "Oh yeah," she had told me. "Cool," I had told myself as I had sat back down on my bed. We were the only ones in here right now, and an idea had come into my head. "Do you ever have a trick to turn yourself invisible?" I had asked Bellafonte. "Yeah we do, but it takes years of practice," she had told me. Dang it, I was hoping that if I could quickly learn it I'd be able to get out of here. "Why?" She had asked, and instead of answering, I just looked at her and told her with my eyes. "No. I'm not allowing you," she had told me. No fair. I should be given a chance to get out of here. "Then do it for me. I should be given a chance to live, and so should you," I had told her as I walked towards the wall that was inbetween us. "Well I'm leaving," I had told her before I went to my bed, and grabbed my backpack that was underneath it. I grabbed the pillow and the blanket and had put them in the backpack. "Even if I had done it for you, I'd still be able to see you. No one else would," Bellafonte had told me. That doesn't matter to me. I want out of here, and this might be my only chance. "Well this is my only chance, and I'm taking it," I had told her before I had headed to the door. Focusing on it, I turned it into dirt, and the doorknob disappeared. Bellafonte had used her magic on her doorknob, and the door had disappeared as I had got out of the cell. I had to be quick; the alarms were going to go off any time soon.

Standing in front of her, she had put her hands on my shoulders and focused on me as she closed her eyes. "There," she had told me. "Wait," she had told me. I don't have long; I needed to get out of here. "If you see Alex, give this to him," she had told me after she grabbed a dress and handed it to me. "How long do I have?" I had asked her before the alarm went off. "You have one hour before you become visible, so you better hurry," Bellafonte had told me before she had put her hands on her shoulders and closed her eyes. "I only have 30 minutes, so we have to hurry," she had told me before we walked out of there. We were both invisible and walking down the hall as the alarm went off. Doctor Henshaw had ran by to see that we weren't in our cells, and called out, "LH and BF get back here!" When we heard that, we knew it was our cue to run. "Wait," I told her, and we stopped for a second. "I don't have much time," Bellafonte had told me. I had an idea. Looking up at the light bulbs in the area where all the doctors were, I focused my attention and imagined dirt falling. The lights then went out and dirt had started falling from the ceiling and onto the doctors. I grabbed Bellafonte's hand, and we ran for the entrance. Trying to get past the after-smoke from the dirt, we got out of there as fast as we could without coughing it up. It was catching up to us, and I wasn't quite sure if we were going to make it in time.
