"David? Can you come over please? Jasmine's in the hospital,"
I had told him before I hung up on the phone. Okay, I don't know what happened, but I had just gotten home from work when it had happened. Jasmine was nowhere to be found, until I had heard the water running in the bathroom. The door was locked, so it couldn't open. Putting my bag down on the table in the dining room, I ran the door down, seeing Jasmine lying in the water, with blood seeping from her wrists and in the water, slowly dripping over the edge of the tub. There was a note on the toilet that had said:
I'm coming for you
Okay, I can see why she would do this, but it's not the answer. Grabbing onto her body, I try to get her out of the tub. "Jasmine, come back to me!" I yelled out in tears. After all these years, she does this now? Failing to get her out of the tub, I get my phone out and call for an ambulance. After hanging up, I stand up and stare at Jasmine, just lying there in the water. Why Jasmine? Why? Suicide is not the answer. Grabbing the note, I turn it over to see whom it could be from. At the bottom of the page, there were initials written there. It had written: L. S.
LS? Wait, Liam Strapple? Okay, that's it. You take away my first kid with Jasmine, and then go and rape her until she's pregnant with your kid, and now you threaten her? I've had it, I just have. The ambulance comes, and I hide the note as they take her in a stretcher towards the ambulance and to the hospital. Not knowing who to go to, I pull my phone out, showing my contacts. The last time something like this happened was in high school, and that was when David and I were close friends. Dialling his number, I call him up, and that's where I am now, sitting in the living room of the house, thinking about Jasmine.
Once he came to the door, he rang the doorbell, and I went straight to him. "David," I had let out-loud. "James," he had let out before we held each other in a hug. "I'm sorry," he had told me as I grabbed my coat. "It's not your fault. It's Liam's," I had told him as I had done my coat up. "What do you mean?" He had asked me, taking his hand and scratching behind his ear. Grabbing the note from out of my pocket, I hand it over to him to read. "What?" He had asked, rather startled. "I thought this entire thing was over by now," he had let out. "Apparently we all thought it was," I had told him as I put my shoes on, and David drove us to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, David tried to make some of the obvious chitchat that I wanted to avoid. "What exactly happened?" He had asked me. "Jasmine tried to kill herself," I had told him, trying not to cry. "What?" He had asked before we had to stop at a red light, and he punched the honker. "Why do you people think that suicide is the option, when it clearly isn't, and just talk to someone?" David yelled out without thinking, before punching the honker again. "Why goddamn-it why?" He had let out before he punched the honker one more time. Not saying anything, I just look at him surprised. I've never heard David say that before. "What are you looking at?" He had asked in a rather harsh tone when he noticed me just looking at him. Looking away, we got a green light, and he continued driving towards the hospital. "I'm sorry," he had let out. "It's okay," I had told him. "I had to deal with Snow last night. She had told Lucy and I that she tried to kill herself because of guilt, and I'm still trying to process it," he had told me. Damn, why would Snow try to kill herself?
"Duly noted," I had told him before he pulled up into the parking lot. We got out of the car and headed towards the ambulance that was pulling up, revealing Jasmine on the stretcher as they took her in. We ran up to the doctor that was beside Jasmine, revealing to be the same doctor that Cashmere had. "Doctor Henshaw," I had let out when we saw him. "What's it looking like?" I had asked him. "We still have to take her in and figure out what's going on, but it's not looking good," he had told David and I before we shared a look. "Just stay in the waiting room. I'll let you know when it's safe to come and see her," Doctor Henshaw had told us before we headed into the waiting room. David sat down as I was walking back and forth, worried about Jasmine. I can't lose her, I can't. "James, do you think you'd ever tell Jasmine what happened between Cashmere and I?" David had asked. "No, oh God no," I told him. No way I would tell a soul of what the two of them did. Before Cashmere died, the two of them had a secret affair. The two of them confided in me to not tell anyone the truth. "Can I ask a question?" I had asked David, sitting down beside him on his left. "Yeah sure, you can ask me anything," he had told me. I wanted to know who initiated the affair. "Who initiated the affair? Because she was technically dating Michael, and was secretly in love with Alex, and had to distract Ben from the truth," I had asked, trailing off at the end. "It was me," he had told me. "Okay. You don't need to go into detail," I had told him, calming myself. Man, Cashmere's been through so much stuff that would be in a lifetime. Oh Jasmine, please come back to me. I don't know what to do without you.
"I haven't told Lucy," David had told me before Doctor Henshaw had came out to the waiting room. I saw him, and we both stood up. "How's it looking?" I asked him. "She's dead," he told us. "I'm sorry for your loss," he told us. Sitting back down, I covered my face from the tears. "Let me guess, you're going to want to keep her here for a few days?" David had asked him, standing up with his arm crossed. "It's our protocol. Ever since she came back that one time, we keep them here to see if it's going to happen again. Have you been able to find Cashmere?" Doctor Henshaw asked me, reminding me of when Cashmere was taken. "No we haven't found her. I can call up the others and see if they've found her or have had sightings," I had told him. "I'm confused," David had let out. "Do you want to at least see Jasmine?" Doctor Henshaw had asked me. "Yes," I let out without thinking. He took David and I to Jasmine's room, where we saw a nurse unhooking the monitor. It was showing a flat-line. Going to Jasmine's side, I grabbed her left hand, and silently kissed it. "Jasmine, if there was a way of how I could have you here again, I would do it," I had told her as I had saw my own tears falling on her dead hand. We heard a noise coming from the corner of the room. "What was that?" David had asked before heading over to the curtain, where the sound was coming from. Opening the curtain, a woman with blond hair and a red streak, wearing a red cape, was revealed. She wore glasses. "Who are you?" David had asked. "My name is Erica. I think I might be able to help bring her back," this woman had told us. "I don't believe you," David had told her before she blasted magic on him, and he went flying backwards, landing on his back on the floor. "David, let her help," I had told him before he stood up and Erica came towards Jasmine.
"Just do whatever you can. I don't want to lose her," I had told Erica. If she can bring Jasmine back, I'll let her do it. Erica had put her hands on top of Jasmine's chest, and she focused herself on Jasmine. David and I saw black sparks surrounding Erica's hands, and Jasmine's body. A few seconds later, Erica disappeared as Jasmine woke up. "Jasmine!" I exclaimed as Doctor Henshaw came back into the room. "What did you do?" He had asked, rather furious at David and I. "We didn't do anything," David had told him. "Please go. You can come back later," Doctor Henshaw had told us. We headed back to the waiting room, where David called Lucy, followed by Jane and Ross. I called up Ellie, Hector, Erin, and Luke.
