Silvia and I just got home from an meeting. We walk into the kitchen and at that moment Julia also walks into the kitchen from the other side. She is pale and her tears are streaming down her cheeks. She has a look in her eyes that I can't read. "No, please Kimberly don't touch me," she says as I walk over to give her a hug. Julia walks out of the kitchen without saying anything else. I look at Silvia in shock. I can see that she is also shocked. "Did I do something wrong? ". Silvia shakes her head. "I don't think so, but something is definitely wrong. I'm going to see where Sem is and you go after her". I nod and look for Julia.

I went upstairs first, but she's not there. I hear loud music coming from the gym, so I know where to go. I run down. As I get closer I hear Julia yell over the music. It's not words, it's screaming. I decide to wait outside the door for the screams to stop. I can feel her pain and really wonder what's going on. When all I hear is music, I go inside. I see that Julia has taken a stick and is hitting the punching bag with it. I sit against the wall. I don't think I've ever seen so much pain and anger in anyone. My tears start to flow, because of what I see with her.

After a while Silvia enters. She looks at Julia, at me, and back at Julia. "Julia, what's going on? Talk to ". Silvia walks towards Julia. I get up quickly and grab Silvia by the arm. "Sil, don't. Leave her ". Silvia looks at me and nods. I let go of her and sit back against the wall. "Where's Sem? ". Silvia sits down in front of me. "Outside mowing the lawn with Max. Everything seems fine with him. I didn't ask him about anything either," she says. "Okay good and yeah you got that right. Would you like to take him to his soccer game? He has to go in half an hour". She nods. "Of course. Can you make it here? ". I nod. Silvia gives me a hug and a kiss on my forehead. Then she leaves.

After a while Julia has thrown the stick away and is now hitting the punching bag with her fists. "Kimberly, let me alone". she yells when she sees me get up and walk towards her. I walk on without saying anything. I grab the punching bag so she can hit it better. She keeps that up for a long time, until she steps away and falls to the ground. She breaks down completely. I quickly walk over to her and sit next to her. I hold her tight. Now she allows it too.

"Julia, please tell me what's going on," I say when we've been sitting like this for at least fifteen minutes. "I couldn't protect him Kimberly ". I grab her face and look at her. "What do you mean? ". Her tears begin to flow even harder. "Sem, I couldn't protect him against Twan". I freeze when she says that. "He also kicked and hit Sem. I didn't even notice. I'm a bad mother, Kimberly". I hug her tight again. "No baby, you are not. You love him and he is your everything. I'm sure you couldn't notice because of that bastard. Sem adores you, he really wouldn't be if he thought you were a bad mother".

There is a moment of silence again, until Julia looks at me. "I don't know what I'll do if I ever run into him again." I nod. "I know baby. I also hope for his sake that I never run into him". She looks at her watch and suddenly stands up. "Shit, I should have taken Sem to his soccer game already". I stand up and grab her hand. "It has already been arranged. Silvia is with him," I say calmly. "Okay thanks. I quickly take a shower. Then I'll head over there to watch the game." I wipe away her tears a little. "Do you mind if I come with you? And I mean to the game". A very small smile appears on Julia's face. "Please, I could really use your presence. I think Sem would love it too". I kiss her. "Okay, then go take a shower and relax a bit. I'll also change and wait for you in the living room. Is that a good plan? ". Julia nods and gives me a hug. "Thank you. I wouldn't know what I would do without you". We give each other a kiss. Then I'll let Julia go upstairs. I myself beat the punching bag for a while before I change my clothes.
