I had a great night's sleep and wake up with Kimberly still in my arms. I can get used to waking up like this. I know we're just friends, but secretly this feels really nice. I enjoy the feeling for a moment and then get up very carefully. I don't want to wake Kimberly. I freshen up a bit and then head for the home office. On my way to the home office I greet the people who walk around the house. In the kitchen I grab a sandwich to take with me. It's still early, but the sooner I get the work done, the better.
I worked hard all day long. Silvia was there today too. She and Kimberly came to see me from time to time. To keep me company and help me with some things. It is already evening when I move to the living room. I sit in the armchair with the laptop on my lap, still working. Kimberly is on the couch with a script. "Do you like the view?" she asks when I'm looking at her for the umpteenth time. I'm only now realizing it because she says it. "Yep". Is my honest answer. "Good," she says without looking up from her script. I can hear a smile in her voice. I stare at her a little longer and then, with difficulty, return to my work.
After a while I notice that she is a bit restless. "Would you like something to drink or something else?" I ask as I get up to go to the kitchen. Kimberly shakes her head. "Isn't it Evelyn?" I ask the woman working in the kitchen. "Yes, sure, I am. Can I do something for you miss?" I've already indicated that I'd rather they just call me Julia, but Kimberly says that's a hopeless case. She has said from the beginning that she does not want to be called a miss, but they do not listen to that either. I can also laugh at Kimberly's face every time they call her Miss. Hansen. "Do you have a heating pad?" She nods. "I will take a look for you. One moment please". Not much later she returns with a heating pad. "Here you go, miss. Is there anything else I can do for you?" she asks when the jug is handed to me. "No. Thanks for the heating pad." I go back to the living room.
I get down on my knees next to Kimberly. I gently pull up her sweater and place the heating pad on her stomach. "What are you doing? I'm not cold," she says, looking at me in surprise. "I know, but I got the idea that you had a stomach ache," I say a bit uncertainly. Kimberly kisses my forehead. "You got it right. Thank you". I give her a small smile. "I have at most half an hour of work left. Then I'll finish all the work for this week. So I'm really free tomorrow when Sem is there. I'll sit with you when I'm done. Maybe my hands can also give enough warmth to do something against the stomach ache". She looks at me with a smile. "Now hurry up and get back to work. I would like it if you would sit with me". Kimberly winks at me. I lift the heating pad. Then I give her a kiss on her belly and put the heating pad back. "This will have to do for a while," I say as I get up to quickly finish my work. "T-that should w-work." I don't know whose face is redder now. Maybe it wasn't such a smart thing to do, but I couldn't resist.
"Now move up a bit," I say after a little over twenty minutes. "Are finish already?" I nod and close the laptop. "Yep. I worked extra fast. So can I still join?" Kimberly quickly sits up and slides forward slightly. "Yes please". I climb onto the couch behind her. I put my legs on both sides next to her and put my hands on her bare stomach. "Much better this," says Kimberly as she lies back against me. "Where does the stomach ache come from?". Kimberly sighs. "Too many emotions these days". I kiss her on her temple. "Is it a bit manageable?". She nods. "You're helping me through it." I rest my head against Kimberly's. "I'm glad I can help you make it a little more bearable." After that, nothing more is said and we enjoy this moment in silence.
"Can I ask you something? If you don't want to answer, I totally understand." Kimberly nods when I ask after a few minutes. "If you don't want to say it, that's fine. Then just tell me". She looks around too look at me. "Is it that bad?". I shrug. "I know you don't want to talk about everything and don't want to hurt your feelings if I bring up something you might not like." She gives me a small smile. "Yeah I know. So just ask". "Your father asked you about your meds yesterday. Are those for your nightmares?". She nods. I can sense she's a little tense. "What are those meds for? To make you sleep better?" She sighs. "Yes, it is to ease my anxiety. So that I am able to fall asleep. Only it doesn't really help against the nightmares". Fortunately, Kimberly is starting to relax more and more. "Why didn't you take them this week?". She smiles a little. "I had forgotten them. When I thought of that I was already in your arms. I've also slept wonderfully for two nights, without nightmares". I kiss her on the head. "I am glad to hear that". Not much later we decide to go to bed.
Sem and Istayed with Kimberly until Sunday evening. As promised, Sem had his ride on themotorcycle. He really loved it this weekend. He spent most of the weekend inthe pool. Together with Kimberly he did his homework. It's really great to seehow they interact with each other. The best moment was when Sem dragged her bythe hand to the PC to show her something. Which I saw them both enjoy. Theywere good days together anyway. I'm also glad Kimberly only had one nightmare.Normally she has one much more often. Now I could wake her up right away andreassure her. After which she was able to fall asleep again. That's why weagreed to go to sleep with the facetime connection on. So I could hear her ifshe had a nightmare and then wake her up. I also gave Kimberly my house key. Itold her that she is always welcome if she wants a good night's sleep.
