Secrets in the Woods- Beomkai

Everyone goes home

The next morning they got dressed and packed up the rest of their stuff. The drive back was depressing. Kai was focused on the road and everyone else was burried in their phones. No one even bothered to put music on.

After 3 hours of traffic and highway sounds, they drop Yeonjun off at his house first. Next was Taehyun and then finally the other three arrived at Kai's house.

They pulled into the circle driveway and parked next to the black maserati. Kai stepped out of the car and was greeted immedietly by Joshua with a hug. His parents follow shortly after and Joshua went to pull Soobin in to a tight squeeze. Kai's parents then went to hug Soobin and Joshua moved to face Beomgyu. "So youre Kai's boyfriend I take it?"

Beomgyu nervously nods and says yes.

"Its nice to meet you!" Joshua extends his hand. "Im sorry it couldnt be under different circumstances."

Beomgyu shakes Joshua's hand and tells him "yeah I know. But its nice to meet you too."

Mr. Huening greets Beomgyu first. "Hi Im Kai's dad! Wow youre a lot shorter than Kai described."

"...what?" Beomgyu replies.

"Dad!" Kai yells.

"Im kidding! I like you already! Anyone that makes my son happy, makes me happy."

Kai's mom walks up and greets Beomgyu as well. "Hi, sorry about my husband. He's always like this. Dont listen to him, youre quite tall. Im Kai's mom. We've heard so much about you. All good things I promise. After this is over, we would love to take you to dinner!"

Beomgyu says "that sounds amazing, thank you Mrs. Huening."

They walk into an entry way and the first thing they see is the large 20ft white marble fire place dividing the foyer (on the right) and the dining room (on the left) with the kitchen in the back. It was lit with blue flames and had clear stones running along the bottom of it. The entire left wall was floor to ceiling windows. The right wall alternated between the same windows and white beige pannels. A large chandelier was over the living room and the dining room. Large trimmed rose bushes, shaped into tall cones, sat in the center of each window.

The center piece for the foyer was a large, 6 foot bonsai tree on top of a circular bed of moss. Small spot lights on the floor illuminated it when the over head lights were turned off.

The dining room table was a Huening family heirloom. A 15ft cherry wood carved piece of art, recently buffed and protected by the glass on top. Each leg of the table depicted a carved angel, holding the top up with small wings bent inwards. The chairs were the same wood, tall and grand, with small vines carved into the legs. A golden chandelier sat high above the center of the table. Small diamonds ran along the golden plating with swarovski crystals hanging from each arm. In the center of the table sat a small golden bonsai. Mini vases of roses were on the opposite sides of the bonsai followed by antique candles with more roses at the very ends.

Beomgyu thought he was staring at a museum piece. He was almost waiting for a tour guide to tell him which family royalty sat where.

"Beomgyu would you like a house tour?" asked Mrs. Huening.

"Id love one!" he replied. She smiled at the excited boy.

"Mom, Beomgyu cant walk."

Mrs. Huening looked down at Beomgyu's ankle. A piece of the story she forgot about. She asked her husband to get the wheel chair out of a closet and Kai helped Beomgyu sit into it. Mrs. Huening said, "Kai, sweetie, go put your stuff back in your room. Soobin, you can take your room."
