Yale and Crown

Soobin was allowed to have visitors a month into his prison sentence due to his good behavior. The Huening parents made sure to visit at least once every two weeks. Yeonjun and Taehyun always visited together every Tuesday afternoon. Kai and Beomgyu after Yeonjun and Taehyun.

Soobin said his new cell mate was a really small man named Felix. Australian. Always happy but had a hot temper. Told Kai and Beomgyu that 3 weeks into his sentence, he was eating his lunch with Felix and watched him smash his lunch tray in half and stab a guy with it. Beomgyu asked why Felix did that and Soobin told him it was because apparently that guy tried to hit on him earlier.

Overall Soobin was okay. He was studying hard. Read a lot. Refused to exercise with Felix which he thought would get him killed but Felix didn't care.

Soobin liked his kitchen job. He told his mentor, Seokjin, he was worried he wouldn't be able to find a job when he got out and he started laughing at him. "Oh Soobin half the cooks out there have a rap sheet. You wont struggle believe me. I got a job lined up when I get out of here. One day Ill have my own food truck. Eating, cooking and traveling. I can't wait."

Crown University started first. The Yale boys helped Yeonjun move into his new room. They met his new roommate, a guy named Jay Park. They found out they were going to be on the baseball team together and got along really well.

Before they left, Taehyun and Yeonjun promised each other to visit at least twice a month and call each other every day. Jay told Yeonjun that Tae was a great catch as they left.

The Huenings drove Kai and his stuff to his private room at Yale. Kai begged his dad not to tell more stories but he couldnt help himself. His mom rolled his eyes and helped Kai unpack while his dad was telling random freshman in the hall his memories.

When they finished unpacking all of Kai's stuff, Mr. Huening dragged his son door to door to meet everyone in the hall. By the 3rd door, Kai said "fuck it" and started telling some of his own crazy stories from his childhood. Despite his mom's protests, Mr. Huening and his son threw a big hall party after buying them 20 liters of soda from the nearby gas station. There was a chugging contest and Mr. Huening's charisma even got some of the dad's involved.

Mrs. Huening allowed herself to smile and laugh. She watched her son and her husband deep into a winning round of a chugging contest with each other. The hall was cheering them on and Kai ended up winning over his dad. He started shouting "Thats my boy! Kai is the best! Kai is the best!"

Taehyun and Beomgyu walked into the madness with boxes in their hands. Kai saw them and ran up to hug his best friend and his boyfriend. He introduced them to the hall and they waved back.

Mrs. Huening explained what happened as Kai ran back to the group to say goodbye to his new friends. Taehyun laughed as he was reminded of 2nd grade memories. This was going to be a good year.

Taehyun watched his best friend yell "THATS MY BOYFRIEND!" when a bunch of guys gave Kai their numbers. He then went to help his parents bring up the rest of his stuff.

Ms. Choi was less than enthusiastic when Beomgyu ditched his boxes to join Kai. She tried to call her son back but he was busy marking his territory. She watched him kiss his cheek and hold him tightly as Kai was surrounded by guys laughing with him.

Mr. Huening shook everyone's hands and went back to help his wife to finish setting up his son's stuff. When the Huening's finished, they helped the Kang's and then finally Ms. Choi.

Kai felt Beomgyu's jealousy wrapped around him. He made a couple of jokes to his new friends to lighten the mood. His laugh made everyone laugh harder. Once Beomgyu's jealousy subsided, his motor mouth fired up. He ditched them for a second to grab Taehyun and introduce him to their new friend group. Everyone's parents got frustrated and the group split to finish unpacking.

The Huenings, Chois and Kangs all insisted on taking lots of photos. The moms started crying shortly after. "I miss you"s and "I love you"s were shared and the parents eventually departed.

The three spent the rest of the night partying on the lawn outside their building with everyone in their hall. The crowd grew large and people were cheering on Kai to chug a keg. Kai finished it off and was carried around like a king. When he got put down, he started making out with his Beomgyu and Tae live streamed it.

Yeonjun and Jay were in their rooms watching a movie when suddenly they get a notification on tik tok from Taehyun. They both watched Kai and Beomgyu making out and started laughing at their drunk friends.

Naturally, by the end of the night, Beomgyu was pulled into Kai's room and Taehyun heard things through the walls.

Kai walked into his first day of class with a huge hangover and a the status of a legend. People were asking about him and inviting him to join their clubs. His next few classes that day went exactly the same way.

By lunch, the trio was eating with 20 different people at their table. Some were from their hall, some from the party and others from their classes.

Taehyun no longer felt like a social outcast. People were interested in him. He could speak with people besides Kai, with the same level of intelligence and have engaging conversations. His brain was stimulated, his hobbies were appreciated.

Beomgyu quickly became a star player of the soccer team when they saw him during practice. His personality and his energy kept the team going through all the training.

No matter what friend group the trio was hanging out with, they always made it a point to come together during lunch and before bed to call Yeonjun.

They saw Soobin every Sunday morning. Didnt matter what else they had to do. The routine was always the same. Go with Kai to his car, pick up Yeonjun from Crown and visit Soobin.

They promised themselves to stay a group of 5 and thats exactly what they did.
