The next morning arrives. This was it.

Kai wakes up first. He didnt want to move. Moving would risk Soobin waking up and if Soobin woke up, he would have to get dressed and if he got dressed, he would have to walk out the door and if he walked out the door they would arrive at the police station and he would never see his best friend again.

But Soobin eventually had to do all of those things. Kai's parents told Soobin what he already knew. Soobin's lawyer, Kim Jisoo, told Soobin the same thing too. That if he turned himself in as quickly as possible, he would have a higher chance of a lesser sentence. If he didnt turn himself in and was found out later, his sentence was inching towards life in prison.

Soobin, Kai and Beomgyu agreed not to involve Yeonjun and Taehyun. As far as the law was concerned, they knew nothing about what happened in the forest. Yeonjun and Taehyun would refuse to testify but would make statements to reflect they had no idea what was going on with the other three. They didnt have to lie in their statements because it was true, at the time, before they were told what happened, they had no idea.

Taehyun and Yeonjun waited at home for the police to show up at their house. They knew today was the day they would lose Soobin. It killed them to know they couldnt walk in with the other three without raising suspicion of involvement. So they sat there, on Yeonjun's bed, just waiting. They wrote Soobin a letter and gave it to Kai. Kai was to have Soobin read it before they stepped out of the car when they arrived at the station. Kai was meant to burn it after.

Beomgyu woke up and noticed Kai was awake. He heard Soobin snoring and quietly asked Kai if they should wake him. Kai said no so they started whispering to each other.

"So were really doing this?" Beomgyu asked.

"We dont have a choice. This is Soobin's best shot to get out of jail young. I dont want him to have to start his life over in his 40s... that's if he even gets the chance to make it out."

"Kai, hey. He will. We have solid testimonies for him. I was the kidnapped victim remember? If I say good things it'll help. I promise."

Beomgyu holds Kai against his chest. Kai wants to cry but still refuses. He has to be strong for Soobin.

They hear a knock on the door which causes Soobin to wake up.

"Hey" Mrs. Huening says. "We made you guys breakfast. Come down and eat soon. We need to go over things one more time. Soobin can I speak to you in the hall please?"

Soobin climbs out of bed and throws on a simple white t-shirt and some loose black adidas shorts. Beomgyu and Kai go off to their bedroom to get changed.

Mrs. Huening leads Soobin into her office and closes the door. She motions for Soobin to sit on the couch and she takes the seat across from him.

She clears her throat and begins to speak. "Jisoo went over the procedure yes?"

Soobin nods.

"And you know were here for you yes?"

Soobin chokes back tears and a little squeak of a "yes" comes out.

Mrs. Huening places her hand on Soobin's shoulder. "Soobin. Please look at me."

He obeys with soft tears falling from his eyes.

"Oh Soobin. No matter what happens this family is here for you. Kai is here. Joshua is here. My husband is here. Im here."

Soobin looks down again and starts sobbing. Mrs. Huening kneels in front of him to catch his eyes in hers. She grabs a tissue from the box on the table and wipes his tears away.
