Devon started to run. She is panicking. She just bit her Alpha. That is frowned upon in our pack. I just let her run. I can feel the fear, the anxiety, the betrayal, and the hurt. I don't understand to whom it is directed towards. Towards Alpha Simon? Towards Daphne? Towards Me?

She gets to the top of the mountain and says to me. 'This is all your fault. The hurt, the pain, you caused this. You are keeping me from my mate. Tonight, right now I would have been with my mate, in his arms, him loving me."

I am taken aback by her words. We are one. We make decisions together, she always supported me. I always listened to her. But this decision I made solely. I thought this is the best for me. But is it?

Devon stands at the top of the mountain and lets out the loudest howl I ever heard. It's full of pain and hurt. I did not know she could do that. Her fur begins to glow. The surge of power runs through her veins. I can feel it. It's the same surge of power that runs through my human veins.

What is Devon doing? What did she just manifest? Her fur is still glowing. Devon and I suddenly became weak. Devon stumbles, she cannot keep her eyes open. I too cannot stay awake.

Devon falls to the ground, letting go of the control and I started to shift back into my human form.

"Devon don't you dare shift and pass out... I am naked!!" That is the last thing I tell her before she and I pass out.

I try to open my eyes, they are so heavy, my vision is blurry. I try to focus, close my eyes again, and try to move my arms. I am so weak. The next time I open my eyes I can see more clearly.

I am in my room, it's dark but the night light gives me enough light that I can see around. I turn my head and I see my Dad sleeping next to me. His body is above the covers and he is facing me.

I smiled. This reminded me of the time when I was little. I could not fall asleep if Dad was not next to me. He always picked me up from daycare, we had dinner, bath time, and then story time. We had a system. The weekends were reserved for playtime.

I turn to the side and touch his face. It looks like he has not shaved in days. I get confused, the last time I saw my Dad was my birthday.

OMG! My birthday! I am starting to remember what happened. I found out that Alpha Simon is my mate, I remember getting jealous of his relationship with his girlfriend Daphne and biting him. I bit my Aphpa, I bit my mate. Then I ran and at the top of the mountain, Devon manifest something. She blocked me so that I would not know. Then I passed out... naked!

I look at my body I am clothed, I am wearing a T-shirt and leggings. I hope Luna Evelyn or Olivia put those on but I don't think that is the case who found me, who carried me? I need answers.

I cradle my Dad's face again in my hand and say. "Dad"

My Dad's eyes open immediately. He sits up.

"Ivy... You awake?" his voice is hoarse. He coughs to clear his throat. "I was so worried. You were passed out for two days."

"Who found me?" I get straight to the point. I really need to know.

"Alpha Simon. We could not find your scent again but Alpha's wolf was able to find you right away." Dad tells me.

"Oh no..." I lay back down and close my eyes from embarrassment. They both saw me naked. "And who dressed me?" I ask, I also need to know.

"Luna Evelyn, she was here when Alpha brought you home. She and Alpha Simon did not leave your side for 24 hours until I finally told them to go home and I will let them know when you wake up. Again the pack doctor did not know what was wrong with you. He said your body just went into shutdown mode and to just let you rest." My Dad gets up from my bed. "Let me get you some water."

He walks out of my bedroom. I lay there. My mind is swarming with thoughts. This is not how I wanted my birthday to turn out. I pick up my phone that is on my nightstand. I have more than 50 messages all from my friends. I don't know what I am going to tell them. I have not told anything to my best friend Olivia. I have not told anything to my father. No one knows.

My Dad walks into the room with a glass of water in his hand. He helps me to sit up. I am so weak. I sit up and take the glass into my hands. It feels heavy. I bring the glass to my lips and let the cool liquid enter my mouth. It's so refreshing as the water hits my dry throat.

My Dad is looking at me, waiting for me to finish my water. After I am done he takes the empty glass from my hands and says. "Ivy you know that we cannot mind link only pure lycan blood could mind link and they are all extinct. You are lucky Alpha Simon's was able to find you. What if we couldn't find you? You would be passed out along. There are bears and mountain lions in the mountains. You could have been killed. Ivy, you are an adult now. You can not just run off. Do you know what kind of danger you put yourself in."

I lower my eyes in shame. I know it was Devon that run off but it was all my fault. I don't know what's right anymore. My mind is rising I am overthinking everything. My Dad sees this and says. "Ivy I want you to tell me what's going on." His voice is serious. He wants answers.

I cannot tell him. I can not tell anyone. I need to go to Miami. The culinary school will take six months and then six months of internship and then I will be back. I need to do this. I don't want to have any regrets. So I tell him a little white lie. "Dad I just miss Mom. I don't know why but this year it hit me the hardest."

My Dad stares at me as says. "Ivy my girl I know how you feel. It's very hard to cope with her loss." he comes closer to me and embraces me. He pets my hair and kisses my forehead.

I pull away and look into his eyes. I am so lucky I have him.

"Common get up and have something to eat. I need to call Luna Evelyn and Alpha Simon to tell them you are awake. They have been worried."

As soon as he says that I notice I am so hungry, like really hungry.

"Luna Evelyn brought some meat stew. I will warm up some for you after I make the calls, just head to the kitchen. I will be right there." He tells me while dialing the number on the phone.

I get up slowly. I sit at the edge of the bed waiting for the dizziness to go away. Then I stand up and do the same. After everything stops spinning I slowly go down the steps to the kitchen. I pass the dining room, it's full of unopened presents. I did not get a chance to open my gifts.

I sit on the kitchen island waiting for Dad to finish with his phone call. Then I notice something is missing.

"Devon where are you..."
