The three of us sat down at the Slytherin table, plates and cuttery appearing right before us. Draco and Blaise sat together across from me. About 10 minutes in, Theo came running to us.

"Hey guys!" He immediately sat down right next to me and started gobbling down food.

The three of us raised an eyebrow at his strange behavior. "You're that hungry?" Draco commented.

"I did get up really early to go to the owlery to check up on something," Theo said as soon as he swallowed the food in his mouth, then he smiled widely, "I have good news!"

"What is it?" Blaise asked.

"You know how Christmas is coming up? My father said it's fine for the four of us to stay at my place, so what do you guys say?" Theo said happily as he looked at all of us, waiting for a response.

"I know I'll go, don't know about these two," I said as I gestured at Blaise and Draco.

"I'll have to... ask my father." Draco said glumly, looking away.

"I'm sure my mother would let me, since your father and my mother are... friends? I'm not sure." Blaise said as he continued eating.

Theo's face darkened a bit, it was barely noticeable. But it's been a bit since we've dated, so I noticed. "Yeah... friends." He muttered quietly, "More like..."

I didn't hear the rest as he was barely even whispering, I couldn't make out anything. All of a sudden, the table was in complete silence. Awkward silence.

I cleared my throat, "Ahem, well, Christmas break is still not until like next week, so let's just focus on now?" I tried to brighten up the mood. I could tell I barely did anything though, all they did was look up and awkwardly smile.

Well, at least now I know they all got some sort of family connection or something.

Draco announced that he was able to go proudly after a few days of waiting for his owl to return with his father's letter. He was reluctant in sending his father a letter directly at first, he didn't know if he should just write to his mother and have her ask for him. He ended up writing directly to his father after Theo told him it's better to be straight-forward.

Draco never mentioned his father so I assumed he didn't even have one. I'm glad I didn't say that to anyone though, because that would've been too offensive and over the line.

But anyway, everyone seemed pretty happy about spending Christmas at Theo's place, especially Draco, who's packing his stuff at an unbelievable speed.

"You're that excited? Do you not like your own family or something?" I questioned him as I watched.

"Something like that," he replied, not slowing down or looking at me. He finished packing, sighed, and locked eyes with me, "Let's just say I'd rather not have a father."

"Another question," I started, he raised his eyebrows at me, waiting for me to continue. "Why didn't you just use magic to pack your things?"

"Oh..." He said as he looked at his suitcase, "Shit, this is embarrassing." He buried his face in his hands, which then ran through his hair. His bangs falling back into place messily, he looked at me again.

"Shouldn't you be getting going too? You haven't packed yet," He asked, trying to change the subject.

"Unlike you, I didn't forget that magic existed, I can do that later in like a second," I replied with a snicker. He rolled his eyes and carried on.

"You guys ready to go?" Theo barged into the room with Blaise with a huge smile.

"Oh yeah, in a second." I said as I hurried into my own room and used magic to pack up everything I needed. I hurried out my room, dragging my suitcase behind me. "All done, let's go!"
