(One Week Later)

Sylvie Indrath

I woke up in bed, Veer was no longer with me, and as I spun to look around the tent, inside, there was no one. It's been a week since Callias's death, Veer and I have been sharing a bed ever since. The thing that worried me was that he hasn't cried, not even once, however, it was obvious he was sad.

A day ago, we arrived near another Alacryan camp, Elder Virion and Arthur both suggested that Veer should come back to the Floating Castle, but he denied them. He said that he was fine, and that he wanted to keep going.

We were basically in the Elven Kingdom; Veer told me yesterday that we had to be cautious at all times now. Agrona, my father, is trying to capture him, and Veer wants to stay ahead of him. I don't know what he has been doing, but he has been planning something.

"Lance Virion, Lady Sylvie." Charley's voice from outside the tent spoke, and I sat up in bed, looking at the entrance. "Captain Melody is here to see you." I stood up, usually Veer is here to speak to them, so I don't really know what to do.

"Come in." I shouted.

Melody, the elf that Veer appointed to captain came into the tent and bowed to me. "Is Lance Virion here?" She asked and I shook my head no. "Do you know where he is?"

"I do not." I answered. "Does Charley?" Melody looked out of the tent, and I shouted again. "Charley, come here." The human male ran into the tent, and I asked him. "Where did Veer go? Did you see him leave?"

"I did, he went into the field with Bronx." Charley said, I had no clue who Bronx was.

"Why did he leave with someone from the demolition team?" Melody said, and I realized where he went, and I think Melody did as well. "Oh." She said, looking at Charley, then me. "Gather twenty mages, and meet me at the edge of camp, we are going to find where Lance Virion went." They don't where that is, his blood magic was the only reason he could find them.

"Melody, you are in charge." I said, walking towards the exit of the tent. "I'm going to find him and bring him back." I exited, found an opening, and transformed into my dragon form, flying up into the air.

'Arthur.' I sent a mental transmission to him.

'Sylv, what is it?'

'I think Veer left the camp to take on the Alacryan force alone.' My voice was laced with concern as I tried to find the person named Bronx, who had to be somewhere close to where Veer was.

'What?!' Arthur exclaimed. 'Are you going after him?'

'Yeah, I am right now, but I don't know where he is, or how long it has been.' I told him as I spotted a short man, probably Bronx, and made my way down to him. 'I think I found him, I'll let you know when I find out.'

'Thanks, Sylv, make sure he is okay.' Arthur spoke to me as I landed on the ground, transformed into my human form, and stepped toward the man.

"Where is he?" I asked the short man, and he looked at the hole he had created. I shook my head, and jumped inside, ending up in a tunnel with light artifacts lining the walls. I needed to find him, I didn't sense any mana being used, but the sight that came into view answered a question of mine.

I didn't know if Veer started the battle or not, but this shows that he did, lining the wall of the tunnel were Alacryan soldiers, each one with an ice sword in their chest, pinning them to the wall.

"H-help me." An Alacryan said as I walked by, knowing the best help I could give him was death as his core was broke, blood ran down his entire body, and he was motionless. I conjured a mana arrow, and sent it through his head, ending the misery Veer put him in.
