Xavier did everything possible to turn his home into a comfortable sanctuary for his new mate.

Xavier bought the foods she wanted, he had his bedroom redecorated strictly in white and black.

He left her alone for the specified amounts of time each day she set aside to work on her novels.

Wednesday had been determined that she would despise having a partner constantly nearby.

She had barely tolerated a roommate, how would it ever be possible for her to have a decent relationship?

Despite her initial qualms, Xavier surprised her by making the entire transition....pleasant.

Wednesday couldn't tell if it was her hormones or their mating bond, but she learned to enjoy waking up to Xavier each morning and lying on his shoulder every night, the sheets of her new nest saturated with his calming scent.

They shared their meals together, sometimes in silence, sometimes during quiet discussions.

Without any fear of a second pregnancy, they were left to couple at their convenience.

Early one morning, as she struggled against a lingering bit of nausea, Wednesday rose before Xavier and padded to the kitchen.

She looked out the window of the terraced grounds while she gingerly nibbled on a cracker from the massive pantry, which seemed larger than her entire closet at her parents' home.

Wednesday attributed it to the increased estrogen interfering with her thoughts, but as she stared through the window at the empty lawn, she imagined Xavier playing ball with a little boy while her father and Uncle Fester watched from the shaded patio.

The cracker fell from her hand suddenly as she turned on her heel and sprinted down the hallway.

She barely managed to make it to the luxurious en suite bathroom in time before she curled over the toilet and promptly vomited the meager contents of her stomach.

Gasping for breath against the violent heaves, peace interrupted the chaos as Xavier whispered behind her.

As he gently gathered her hair and held it back, it vaguely occurred to Wednesday that she had neglected to braid it before she left her nest that morning.

"It's ok, I've got you." Xavier called over the sounds of her retching.

Wednesday was more disgusted with herself than she was with her own waste.

Why had she been so careless?

Surely she hadn't dropped her guard thinking that Xavier would take care of her?

That was what weak omegas did, rely on their mates.

Wednesday Addams was not weak.

Xavier drove Wednesday to and from each of her doctor's appointments.

He learned to not mind the silence in the car as they rode along.

Wednesday learned to get used to a different driver besides Lurch.

At each appointment, it pleased Xavier to hear how well his mate and baby were doing.

After one particular doctor's visit, he found Wednesday standing perfectly still in the kitchen as she gazed down at the ultrasound picture in her hands.
