I Defy You Stars!

Seeing Nate's face, it broke me, I could not feel anything but pain. Not just from the pain in being pregnant, but the fact I might have lost someone close to me. I swallowed, my hand shaking as Nate shook his head, stepping forward.

"W-where is she..." Nate stuttered, I could tell he was breaking. Loosing his little sister...now his mom.

"Nate..." Carson started but was silenced by Nate's cry.

"WHERE IS SHE?!" He snapped, tears beaming in his eyes. I couldn't help but stare, what else should I have done? I couldn't say anything, nothing to keep this from happening. Even with those thoughts...I still tried.

"Nate..." I said as I slowly made my way closer to him but I froze when he whipped his golden eyes on me. "Please...calm down."

He shook his head. "How exactly am I suppose to calm down? I'm loosing my family!" He shouted "I will find my mother as I will also find Lily's killer." He said before looking away.

I walked up, placing my hands on his arms. "Right now you need to rest, Carson and Bea will track what happened to your mother and we will get her back. I promise you that."
Nate shook his head slowly, closing his eyes. I took his hand and pressed his open palm to my stomach. "Nate please, you can't just run into battle without a sword." I said softly, hoping he'd understand.

He gave me a weary smile. "I think you're too tired to be standing." He said with a soft chuckle. He wrapped his arms around me, hugging me. I knew he was still upset, I could feel it. He looked over at Carson and Bea before frowning. "If you find out anything I want to know immediately." He said softly.

Carson looked to me and I nodded in agreement. He sighed, "of course," he looked at Bea, they exchanged nods. "We will be back soon, Nate...take care of her." He said before both himself and Bea jogged out the door, closing it behind them.

I frowned. "Let's get you upstairs." I said as I gently took Nate's hand before walking him upstairs to our room. Once in there he walked forward, releasing my hand as he flopped onto the bed, laying his head on the pillow In silence. It killed me. I slowly walked over, getting on the bed carefully I laid next to him. "Nate."

"Yeah?" He asked softly, looking to me then.

"We will find her." I responded.

He nodded. "I know we will...I'm just afraid....that's all." He said before closing his eyes.

I sighed, moving closer I kissed his head before laying next to him. I curled up close to him, laying my head under his, near his chest. I felt bad, and my feeling only got worse.

I groaned, rolling onto my back I let out a small pained breath. I felt warm, too warm for liking. I was sweating...it made me feel sick. I reached my hand over on the bed and felt Nate's spot cold. Where had he gone off too. "Nate?" I croaked, rubbing my eyes as they tried to adjust to the bright light. He never responded. I felt a slight kick to my stomach and I grunted. "Nate!"

There was a shuffle of footsteps, I turned my gaze to the door to see Nate running in. I let out a sigh of relief. "What's wrong?" He asked, a worried look on his face. I was afraid he may have went off...I was glad he didn't.

I shook my head. "Nothing, just a little sore."

He frowned, "Then maybe you should sleep longer, give yourself some rest. You're always pushing yourself to do more."

"I'm fine, really. I'm okay." I said getting up as he rushed to my side.

"Amy you mustn't push yourself-what," he said as I pulled him into a hug, silencing him from his train of thought. He was confused and he was in some sort of shock, I knew that for sure. There was only so much I could ask for, so much I wanted from him. I needed him to stay, to stay here, with me, with the baby. We needed him. "Amy..."

"S-sorry, I just really need this." I said hugging him tighter. I felt his arms wrap around me, holding me close to him.

"It isn't just you who needs it." He said said before putting his head against mine.

I said nothing as we sat there in silence. It was deafening, I kept quiet. I knew he needed this, everything was going wrong and there was nothing that I could do to change it.

"We should get downstairs, you need to eat." He said pulling back to look down at me. "After we can go to a movie or something, you choose, my treat." He said sweetly.

I looked up at him, nodding at his words. "Okay, but I am not going anywhere without having a shower first." I chuckled before pushing him away slightly.

I watched him slowly smile, did he find me amusing or something? "So, what is it you want for breakfast? Oh and muffins are not an option."

"Oh come on! Please!"

"No."

"Nate....."

He stared at me, watching me pout and bat my eyes at him. I heard the low, slow groan that he made in his throat. I bit back my smile, he was seriously adorable. "Amy...you need to actually eat..." He whined.

"But I would be..."

He sighed, it was a sigh of defeat. "Amy..."

"Please-" he said, covering my mouth with his hand. I watched as he came a little closer, staring me in the eye.

"Just listen to me." I nodded, my mouth still covered as I did as he wanted, I listened. I stared at him, still bating my eyes since i knew i bugged him so much. He huffed, covering my eyes with his hands. 

Really...that bad...hehe

"Amy, I love you...and I always want to be with you, keeping you safe...its my dream..." He trailed off, almost as if he was debating  if he should speak of not. I waited for a bit, his hands finally trailing from my face. I watched him shove his hand into his pocket and pause. "and...I think...that this would...that this would be the best way to-" 

He was interrupted by Carson barging into the room. Nate looked a little furious towards him but I brushed it off since he did seem a bit flushed. "what is it Carson?" I asked, turning my attention to him now. 

"We found her."

Ello Lovelies, 

I'M SORRY!!! Cliff-hangers, I know are the worst possible thing for any book. 

I really didn't want to come to this, and I know a lot of you are trying to piece this all together, but I promise, it will make sense later. I swear.

It's you guys who are keeping me with this story, I wouldn't continue if it wasn't for you all, so I just wanted to thank you. I hope to have the next part up soon, I'm just a little busy with school and family stuff, but I hope to have it up before Halloween, if not one then two.
