Tamed

A New beginning

Waking up wasn't a walk in a park. 

There was a sudden shock of cold that woke me up before a little prick. "Ow!" My eyes snapped open to see Arabella with a small syringe in her hand. Her eyes met mine and she pulled away before moving over to a small table that she had been working at. 

"Sorry I just had to take a blood test and I really didn't want to wake you up." She said softly before looking at me with a soft smile. By this time I got a good look at her. She was completely stunning, her angelic features and glowing aura no wonder she looked so approachable. She cocked her head to the side, giving a soft smile. I frowned which caused her to laugh, "I'm guessing you didn't realize that you were staring. " she said with a large grin. I felt the blush rise on my face as she tipped her hat and turned to go back to the test that she was doing. 

I pondered as I watched her work, my thoughts consumed about what Nate mentioned about his father's pack and with Arabella. It made me question why did she stay. Maybe she had a thing for Nate and he just never knew. I had to ask her, it was eating at me. "Arabella?"

She looked over, a look of concern edged her features, "What's wrong?" 

My eyes widened slightly before I held my hands up. "Oh nothing! I was just wondering...why did you stay?"

She raised a brow, "Stay where? Here-oh Nate must have told you about his father's pack, correct?" I nodded and she smiled before sitting on the bed at my feet. "When Nate was younger his father asked me to keep a promise for him if he was ever to fall. He wanted Nate to always be safe and kept in care. His father knew that there was evil out there that would do anything to take everything away from Nate. He wanted to prevent that from happening so that Nate could be happy and safe. That was his dying wish, I promised to keep that wish for him. So when his father died, just after Lily was born, I swore to stay by him no matter what happens. So when Nate told us to join my alpha's pack I asked your father if I could stay here as well to keep a close eye on him and be help when he needed it. I from then on, made sure I kept an eye on both him and Lily." 

"So  were there during the fire?"

Arabella nodded, "Yes I was, I didn't make it in time to save Lily or to stop Nate from going back in but I was there to calm the flames to get them back out. I went in after Nate, only I went through the back so that no one would see me. I used water to dowse some of the flames-" 

"Is that why there was so much smoke?" I interrupted. 

She nodded, "Exactly, that was my doing. More smoke was better than more flames, I had things here to help with the smoke particles, I didn't want Lily to be scarred with burns." She lowered her head, "but instead I hurt her more by not showing up when I should have. It's all my fault that she's dead."

I shook my head, immediately sitting up and placed a hand on her shoulder, "It wasn't your fault for what happened..it was no ones." 

"Yes it was. It was a demon." She said coldly. She looked at me with dimmed eyes. "I smelt the sulfur in the ashes of the fire."

My eyes widened, "Why would a demon be anywhere near a werewolf pack?" 

"My guess he wasn't alone. I think he got help. It isn't just a coincidence that it hit Nate's house and no one else's." 

"You don't think?"

"Yes, it was planned." 

The door swung open so fast I jumped in my seat. Nate walked in with his soft eyes locked on Arabella and I. "Was I interrupting? I could come back, I just brought muffins..." 

Arabella got up with a wicked grin, "Oh don't leave yet, I want a muffin!" she said childishly as she bounced off the bed and grabbed a muffin from his hand. "Thanks hon, I'll leave you two alone, I need to check on that test." She said waving her hand to them as she left the room. 

"I brought one for you too, Bubbles." he said sweetly as he tossed me one. 

I smiled, thanking him before biting into it. I felt a sudden rush of pain through my body and I curled closer to my side, groaning in pain as it washed over me. I felt like I was beaten with a ton of bricks. The muffin that i was holding dropped to the ground. 

"Was it really that bad?" Nate said softly as he picked up the dropped muffin and putting it in the garbage. "Good thing I didn't make them, otherwise I'd feel hurt." He watched me for a bit, his expression softened and full of concern. Arabella and him shared that in common. When he finally clued in that something wasn't right his expression morphed even more. The concern turned into pure terror and fear. He was suddenly at my side, his eyes dark and staring down at me, knowingly. Everything seemed like a blur, a dark blur. Arabella was rushing around the room, when did she come in? She snapped on some gloves before moving me a little bit. 

"Amy...I need you to work with me..."

 I heard her soft voice but it just sounded distant, almost as if non-existent. I looked up at Nate, his eyes not even looking at mine, they were focused on...something else. My throat felt raw, like I was screaming, my eyes watering and I felt my numb hand clenching Nate's tighter. What was this torture? What was going on. I followed Nate's eyes towards where he was looking and I saw Arabella at the end of the bed. The pain was suddenly gone and I felt relaxed and sore. 

Arabella rounded the bed towards us, something cradled in her arms, a white blanket. I sniffed and smelt a delicate smell, like Nate only...weaker. Arabella handed the small object to Nate before looking down at me. 

"Amy, you did very well, I'm proud of you."

I looked back over to Nate who's dark eyes were now soft and golden. He crouched down, showing me what he was holding. A baby. It then all came to me...I just..a baby. I slowly sat up a bit to see the delicate face that greeted me. Soft delicate features and a full head of hair, crisp white hair. It was a perfect baby. "What is it?" I asked softly which Arabella greeted me with a smile. 

"It's a.."

Cliff-hanger!! 

I am so sorry My Lovelies but I had too!! 

I feel so bad for delivering a cliff hanger to you all, hehehe see what I did there. >.< I am terrible. 

I did as said and brought you the next chapter. It took me a bit longer to write this one cause i wanted to make it perfect and tell you a bit more about our Darling Nathan. 

So now if the final chance, what do you want the baby to be?
