The Dream

The smell of dirt and wood strong against my nose, maybe it was just me...or maybe it was just the beast inside trying to break down the boundary I used to keep it hidden. I watched from the shadows I hid in, stalking the prey of a fawn. The fresh smell of blood rising up my adrenaline. I lowered in the grass so it couldn't see me. The darn thing, just a baby yes but a delightful prize. I grinned at it before I pounced. Tearing the flesh from each bone. My muzzle completely drenched and the flesh between my teeth. I smiled at the kill I made before I patted over to a river, gently stepping in before I began to wash off my beautiful white fur. I couldn't help it, the meat looked so...so...perfect. I turned to get out when I came face to face with a larger wolf, the black beast. It was huge compared to me, almost alpha sized. I stared at it and it stared back with the bluest eyes you'd think they were the sky. I got lost in them before hearing a single word, one that sent shivers down my spine and made my heart start racing. Mate. Then it pounced at me, baring fangs.

I woke up screaming, I was hot, sweat covered my forehead and my heart was racing. The same dream I have had for the thousandth time. All ending the same way. I let out a breath just as my mother stormed in. "Amelia? are you alright!?" She said softly, thou panic was in her tone.

"Yes mother, I'm alright. just a bad dream."

"same one?" She asked.

I nodded. It was understanding that she could identify the dream, since I've been having this dream since my first shift.

"The dark beast, have you not gotten closer to finding out who or what it means?"

I thought for a moment. The black wolf would meet me at the river, say Mate then jump at me. No I have not thought of who it could be. "No..." i said simply.

"Maybe it's your mate.." Kelly said from the door. Kelly was my best friend, we have known each other since we were four. We instantly clicked.

"Mate? Why...why would you think that?" I asked softly.

"Amy, really. You're sixteen, you will gain your mate soon. You've had this dream over and over again. Finally, happy birthday." She giggled before handing me a small box. "Here's your present you future luna." She teased. I was in fact the alpha's daughter which meant I was hopefully going to be a luna, but I had to find my mate first.

I smiled down at the box before looking up at Kelly. "Thank you" I said before gracefully tearing it open to reveal some perfume, a necklace, and a book: Pride and Prejudice. I smiled happily before hugging her. "You're amazing." I giggled before turning to my mom who was handing me a present as well. It was the sexiest outfit I have ever saw in my life. Lets get this straight, Im a nerd, yes I wear jeans, plaid tops and black convers, I sometimes wear my glasses, but Ive outgrown them since my shift, they are just there to show me looking normal. This outfit though, way off the charts, it was a good looking outfit.

"Don't tell your father I got you that, or do, he won't care, my baby luna. You better be wearing this today..." She chuckled before walking out of the room.

I groaned. "Do you guys not like my style?"

"Amy you're a nerd." Kelly said honestly. "No offense"

"Yeah, so not offensive." I laughed before getting up with a stretch.

Kelly smiled before smacking my ass. "Common girl, get on your new clothes, time to find a mate."

"We have school...." I said softly.

"All the better to wear that outfit."

"How about no..."

"You're going to wear it!" She snapped. "Amy please!!!!"

"No"

"PLEASE!!!"

"FINE!" i said agreeing with her. She beat me every time we tried to argue, I just couldn't with her. So I put on my new outfit, which really was just ripped jeans, high heel boots, and a very sexy black shirt that showed a little bit of my belly but was long sleeve. I had to admit I liked it. It was sexy compared to my regular clothing.

I turned to see Kelly smirking at me.

"What?" I asked.

"You look hot!"

"Is that suppose to be a compliment?" I questioned.

"Yes"

I nodded in agreement. I did had to admit, I looked good, for once I looked good. I had Kelly playing with my long brown curls. Making them tumble down my back and my chest to my waist. I smiled, today would be a good day. "Kelly?"

"Yeah Amy?"

"What if my mate rejects me?" I asked. One thing I was always worried about, why wouldn't I be. Having no mate left me alone, forever. I would be broken, my other half gone. "What if I never find him?"

"You will find him and he won't reject you" She reassured me.

I sighed. It was good to hear her say that, it took my mind elsewhere. I was not to be afraid any longer of things unlikely to happen.

Once we did get to school I was nervous to get out of the car, for the fact of...i was hot! I didn't want to be questioned by anyone right now.

"Amelia Star, you better get out of this car now!" Kelly grinned knowing she wanted to see the boys react. It was her specialty, to make them want what they cannot have.

I sighed before opening the door, and getting out. "There I'm out, you happy?"

Kelly grinned as she followed. "Very"

As we headed inside we bumped into Bruce, Kelly's mate. "Hay babe" He purred against her ear as he engulfed her against his chest, breathing heavily to take in her scent. His chocolate brown eyes looked at me instantly and he smiled "Hello Miss Amy, you look good today, happy birthday!"

I smiled. "Thanks Bruce" I said before looking around. "I'll leave you two to catch up, see you at lunch?" I said before heading off.

The school has never changed in a time period of six years they say, but I didn't care. I turned the corner when I caught the smell of something, something amazing. The smell of dirt, outdoors, earth. It smelled amazing, you could bottle this up and sell it, it smelt better then cologne. though it was vaguely familiar. My inner beast took control of my limbs and I began to track it. Mate. It shouted. Mate! It wanted more. MATE MATE MATE!

I tracked it all the way to a man, a man wearing dark jeans that hung up tightly with a belt, cowboy boots and a plaid shirt. his back was turned to me. I checked him out, he was muscular, defiantly well built. In the next few seconds he whipped to face me. Blue eyes. The same blue eyes on the beast in my nightmares. My heart started to race and I couldn't control it.

He stalked closer till he was a mere inches away. He lowered his head to my neck, taking in a deep breath before exhaling. His grin widening, he moved to my ear. Mate. My beast roared.

"Hello doll, you seem to be my mate. You are mine." His hands grasping my waist to trap me against him. "This is going to be fun."
