The teen sat, sighing in unison as onions are chopped behind him. His teacher was making an early dinner for them, of which the blonde forgot on what it was.
He was deflated, slouched forward, sulken eyes trailing along the TV channels, desperate to find something. Nothing that was on caught his attention. Scrap that, he will put a song on and close his eyes instead. That usually does it. Pressing shuffle on a daily mix, Bakugo listened to a song.
No, that wasn't helping either so he pulled off the earphones. All he could still feel was nothing and it began to pick at his skin, it felt wrong. Very wrong. The antidote was to feel again and he just had something in mind.
Midoriya struggled in all his might to stay still, he couldn't when his friend kept coming into mind. He doesn't even know what's going on but he's played a part in it, right? He should know so he can fix it. Why did he have to be so forceful about the sensitive subject? It's no wonder his friend was uncomfortable, he should have thought it through not act on a whim but it's hard to think when he's full of concern.
Uraraka sat down next to him on the couch. "What's upsetting you, Deku?" She pats him reassuringly on the shoulder.
"It's... Kacchan."
She assumed it was about that. It's true he didn't help and made the situation worse, however, he doesn't deserve to beat himself up over it. Even if Bakugo was brash a lot of the time, he wouldn't want Midoriya to feel this way about it. So she's going to try her best to help both her classmates!
"You can't change the past so you shouldn't sulk about it, how about we go out? I mean... if you're free?" Her cheeks flush slightly in embarrassment.
If turning that frown upside down was an advert then the greenette would be hired as the star of demonstrating the product. "I'd love to Uraraka-san! Where should we go?" He couldn't stay upset, she was right after all! I'll keep working on myself so I can help Kacchan better, Midoriya thought.
"I'm glad! Oh, Todoroki-kun! I see you over there." She waddles over to him.
Midoriya found it cute how he resembled a deer caught in front of headlights. Deep breaths in, he focused on his palms and felt determination to stay strong. He won't let some mistakes define him.
Originally, Uraraka had planned to stay with the rest of the girls from her class. They were having their usual girl time in Momo's dorm, the activities and chatter differentiating each time. It wasn't an issue for her to come later as - Deku-kun needed some support - all she needed to do was text her friends so they were aware. No biggie!
Speaking of the occasion, Mina was painting Tsuyu's nails with a shining dark blue. Hagakure wanted hers done too but Mina couldn't as her hands were invisible, poor Hagakure. Whilst, Momo was pouring out tea for her friends on the washed mat. The rock fanatic had an ear plugged into her phone. She tapped out the beats on her thighs and listened with her other ear to the conversations.
Mina turned over to her, keeping a strong but cautious hold on Tsuyu's right hand. "What song is it, Jirou?"
She perked up at the question. "Lights out by Royal Blood."
"I need to listen to that one!"
"We could play it now to see?" Momo suggested.
Jirou couldn't help but bounce in excitement. "Okay, okay!"
The girls giggled at their friend, it was precious for them to see her so excited - she for sure needed some positivity. Jirou pulled her ear out and played the song with max volume.
My eyes are still burning red! So turn the lights out!
The bashing of drums and strokes of the guitar had Mina grooving along to it with Jirou. Hagakure joined them and even Tsuyu, moving her tongue to the beat instead of her drying hands. It wasn't Momo's choice of genre so she sat politely to wait. Mina saw the stiffness and pulled Momo up with her. "Come on, girly!"
You're a void, a crack in the mirror.
The comparison between how they danced was a sight to see. While Momo was gently swaying from left to right, Mina was throwing her head up and down. Despite appearances, the amount of fun they were having was the same.
Back in Aizawa's normalised dorm, Bakugo had replaced the bandages on his legs, they were healing which was somewhat relieving but it seemed most would leave a scar. Though, that wasn't as significant for the boy. He realised what would boost his mood and it was as simple as a can of Pipeline Punch monster. He knew his teacher wouldn't let him out on his own nor did he want to follow his teacher around like a puppy, earlier was enough of an embarrassment for him. It took some not so considered considerations for him to know what he could do. His dorm was a few floors below. Bakugo just needed to be quick, grab the monster and sneak back before he was caught.
