To put an end to the legal issues, Aizawa was facing court to claim custody of his student. His birth giver agreed to it, with a suspicious lack of complaints. Was she really unwilling to fight for her son? Bakugo couldn't swipe that thought away, it felt... too painful to be true. Before the court case, he desired to see his birth giver one last time as his mother and find some understanding. He was grateful for the understanding of his teachers. Mic was soon informed of Aizawa's decision to become a father to Bakugo and he was delighted, happy to help Aizawa as a good boyfriend would. The boy was happy with both of them and had no complaints about it. Mic stayed with Aizawa in the courtroom whilst Bakugo talked with her.
"What is it Katsuki, I want this over with." She sulked.
Bakugo scratched the back of his head. "Really? Are you fucking kidding me? You don't even care that you are losing your son, am I worth fuck all?"
"Katsuki, I do care."
"No, you don't. I was a fool to think you did."
She leaned against a window. "There's some things you don't know, for why I distanced myself. I built walls because I was scared, scared for you to know how much I cared. I wanted to be a person you could look up to."
"Bullshit, you never cared. I needed you and you cast me aside, that is far from caring."
"I know, and I'm sorry."
I suppose apologising is some progress, but hardly enough to plaster the psychological distress she has caused him.
"Where's dad? I haven't heard from him... I tried--."
"He's gone."
"What?!"
"I mean, he's moved on. For a while he was having a close relationship with this whore from work, took the chance to leave. I didn't want to tell you but you should know."
Bakugo stared at the ground with a hard to read expression. He didn't know how to feel about it, relying on his tender dad and believing that he could do no wrong. But here was the truth and it made him queasy. His mother, the heartless woman she was, left him to compose himself before entering the courtroom.
He sat next to his soon to be family, letting Aizawa pat him on the back. The judge discussed the policies and Mitsuki signed in confirmation, barely batting an eye at her son. Soon done, a new family, Bakugo collapsed on his bed as soon as he returned to the dorm.
The scent of waffles woke Bakugo up, he didn't know what time it was but it seemed to still be daytime, judging by the natural light. Groaning, he left the bed and went to where the smell was coming from. There was a plate of waffles with bananas and cream on the counter. Aizawa patted the barstool and Bakugo sat down on the black-padded seat.
"What's this for?" Bakugo half-smiled.
"A gift for my son, one of many that is to come through your journey. I know it won't be the easiest for you so a gift is more than deserved."
He shoved the bites of waffles into his mouth, getting cream splattered all across his cheeks. It tasted so holy and warm, fresh. The cream was wiped off by Aizawa who couldn't help but smile at the blonde's antics. Mic was coming over later to spend dinner with them and they could enjoy it together like a family. Aizawa, having lost his previous family, was finally rebuilding one and it would be a lie to say he didn't feel elated.
He needed Bakugo just as much as Bakugo needed him and if he'll serve waffles often, who is the kid to complain?
