"Come on, Leni. We have to go now," Risa said urgently, grabbing Leni by the hand.
Leni hesitated for just a moment before following Risa out the door. They made their way to the car parked down the street, and Risa quickly got behind the wheel.
"What's going on?" Leni asked, her heart racing.
"I'll explain everything in a minute," Risa said, her voice full of urgency. "Just buckle up."
As they sped away from Leni's house, Risa finally began to explain. "We have to leave town. Now. My father found out that we're together, and he's not happy about it. He's trying to separate us, and I won't let him."
Leni felt a pang of fear and sadness. "What are we going to do?"
"We're going to start over," Risa said firmly. "I have some money saved up, and we can find a new place to live. Somewhere where no one knows us."
Leni felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe they could make this work. Maybe they could find a way to be together without anyone stopping them.
But as the days turned into weeks, Leni began to see the toll that their new life was taking on Risa. She was constantly on edge, always looking over her shoulder. They lived in a tiny apartment on the outskirts of town, and Leni could tell that Risa was unhappy and stressed.
One day, as they were walking through the park, Risa suddenly grabbed Leni's hand and pulled her towards a car parked nearby. "Come on," she said urgently. "We have to go. Now."
Leni didn't hesitate. She trusted Risa completely, and she knew that something was wrong. They got into the car and Risa started the engine, driving with a desperation that Leni had never seen before.
As they drove down the highway, Leni began to feel a sense of foreboding. She didn't know where they were going, but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be good.
Suddenly, flashing lights appeared behind them, and Risa swore under her breath. "They've found us," she said, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly.
Leni couldn't breathe. She felt like she was in a nightmare, and she didn't know how to wake up.
The police car pulled alongside them, and Risa finally pulled over. To their surprise, Risa's father showed up. Leni watched in horror as Risa was pulled by her father from the car.
As she was hauled away, Risa turned to Leni and spoke her last words. "I love you," she whispered, tears streaming down her face.
Leni was left alone in the car, tears streaming down her face. Her heart was broken, and she didn't know how to go on without Risa. But somehow, she knew that she had to keep going. She had to find a way to move on, even though it felt impossible.
As she drove away with her broken heart and shattered dreams, Leni knew that she would never forget Risa. And maybe, just maybe, she would find a way to honor the love that they had shared.
