SidHe's Stories
Chapter 8
Elven
Lema’s eyes were wide open staring at the high ceiling of her room. She see no light inside, her curtains were closed though she could hear the raindrops dripping outside. The rain is over and the sun was coming, taking it’s time to climb in. Lema was waiting for a knock in her door or a single voice calling for her name. Since the dream and the confession of what Sidhe was she was confused, but at the same time afraid. Afraid of what could happen.
Lema saw Sidhe’s eyes last time when she was talking about her dream; eyes showing guilt and worried. Eyes which could make you entangle and mess up. It was somehow scary but warm. It gave me the feeling of weariness but I felt calm and safe by its side.
She thought of it, she saw those eyes. She tried to remember, “I somehow seen those eyes once.” Dig deeper.
You’ve seen it. You’ve known it too. – A voice said.
There it was again, this voice has been saying things to Lema since the dream. She tried to block the voice. But here it is again, somehow the voice become lauder than before.
“What?” Lema asked loudly.
You’ve seen it. You’ve known it too. - It repeated.
She looked around, “Who is it? Come out.” But, no one came out nor the voice said a word.
Time was fast, the sun was up. Rays came crawling in her room. The thought of staying in that house made her think: If I’ m going to stay here, well for a while I might end up knowing all about fairies or whatever they call themselves. I’ m definitely need to pay Sidhe for giving me my eyes. It’s really a great gift. She has given me more than she needs to. It’s too much hospitality.
Lema stood up and hurriedly went to the door. She was about to open the door when it was opened.
“Shibu!” Lema exclaimed.
He just looked into her eyes as he used to, “The young lady said you will go to Elven today. She wishes you to go Cristania at once and as fast as possible. The young lady is waiting for you in the carriage.”
Lema passed through the dark and lonely halls, those blank and black paintings in the wall made Lema’s spine tingle. It’s not her first time in the halls; she went to Christania’s place once. The halls seemed colder this time. She opened the door and entered the room. She knew there are many needles in the place, it’s better for her not to move around.
She called out, “Cristania?”
No one answered. She stood still.
“Sidhe sent me.” She continued.
She looked around, no one answered.
“Cristania?” she called again.
The space around Lema was occupied, she could feel it. She looked around, she feel she was being watched. I think I entered the wrong room, she thought.
