SidHe's Stories
Chapter 7
Wide Awake
The moon is full and the clouds can be seen clearly in the sky, there stood the mansion in front of Lema’s eyes. She followed Sidhe going inside of the mansion; she followed her going in the corridors lighted by torches; she followed her into the darkest sides of the rooms until then Sidhe stopped and turned and looked directly into Lema’s eyes. She froze just by looking at her amber colour eyes.
“Why are you following me?” she coldly said.
Only then Lema realize why is she following her. Why did she follow her anyway?
“It’s ....I..well.” she said, rattled.
“You do not know? Lema Hudson, runaway from their house just to get her freedom, she’s no ordinary girl, she’s blind for 5 years, now she got back her eyes and what’s more she has a future coming ahead and now she do not know what to tell nor what to ask?”
Lema notice this is not the girl she met, this girl is much taller than the Sidhe she knew: petit. However, her face, her hair, her nose, her rosy lips and her pale skin is the same.
Sidhe’s face was just an inch apart, their nose were about to touch, Lema can feel Sidhe’s breathing though she can feel it cold.
Why cold?
“W-why is your breath is so cold?”
Sidhe laugh and gave her a grin, “Why, you want to know?”
“I, Yes.”
Lema looked at Sidhe’s eyes. It was like ice was thrown to Lema’ s body as Sidhe touch her with her cold hands, with her cold and empty soul. Electricity entered Lema’s body and she can feel it moving faster that brought her goose bumps.
Sidhe reached for her neck and whispered low, “You’re so slow. Do not still realize I’ m something? ; Cold hands, pale skin, cold breathing, even though I look normal. And, don’t you ever saw my fangs?”
As she said those last words she trusted her sharp shiny fangs into Lema’s neck.

Lema sat down immediately, she’s catching her breath, running for air like it is her last and as if she has just finished a ran. Sweat covered her face and body, dripping from her forehead to her neck. She’s out of breath, her heart is about to bounce out of her chest. Her chest is carrying a big rock, heavy. She touches her neck and found no trace.
“It is just a dream.”
“Indeed, your mind is just picturing things, a dream, a dreadful dream.” A familiar voice said coming from the opened door of Lema’s room.
Lema gasped from what she saw in the door, a small shadow. The moon walks into the room and made the image clearer, Sidhe. Lema’s heart jump; her breathing became faster as she remembers what she dreamed. The room seems to grow smaller, the air are slowly running out; evaporating somehow.
Sidhe slowly walk, approaching Lema. “You screamed.”
Lema’s heart pounded as she drew nearer to her. She cannot explain it but she knew there is something wrong. Sidhe’s steps sounded a death march. Every foot she steps forward sounded loud but part of it is light. Lema tighten her grip to the blanket; her other hand still in her neck; searcher for any trace that will certify and reason her fear right now.
