I walk back into the Palm Woods with a new pep in my step. Mr. Gustavo Rocque told me I'd be starting my new job as his assistant tomorrow. He informed me on my weird hours and the reasoning behind it. His dogs are easily distracted, so I am not to be around them... AT ALL!
Which sucks because I like dogs.
Doesn't matter. Nothing can dampen my mood. I can't wait to see an actual producer, THE GUSTAVO ROCQUE, in their natural habitat. This is going to be a great learning experience. It's going to be so much fun!
Maybe he'll help me with one of my songs. Maybe he will use one of my songs!
Humming happily, I almost skip to the elevator. When the doors open, I smile and wave at the four guys in front of me. James smiles and waves as the others jump back a little scared. Carlos and Logan hide behind Kendall as they all back away from the exit.
"Hi guys" I smile wide.
"Hey, Lin" James happily said.
"Hey, Lin" the other three say warily.
The three boys avoid any physical contact as we pass each other. I enter the elevator. They leave. Chuckling softly to myself, I click my floor number and patiently wait. The three boys scurry away, leaving James to wave at me.
James's intense gaze made my face heat up. I just hope the elevator doors closed fast enough that he didn't get a chance to see. Once it's fully shut, I bite down on my bottom lip and lean against the wall.
James doesn't have female friends...
What Katie said last night echoed in my brain. I didn't have time to think about it until now. James... Do I like him? Yes, as a friend. As a boyfriend? I don't know. We just started hanging out not that long ago.
I mean, yes, he is super-hot. Funny, sweet, adorably charming and easy to be around. Even when he is flirting all the time.
It's just... The only relationship I had was in elementary school. The only experience I have in that area is flirting and being dropped like a hot tamale. I always admire people that found their one. I'm just not as lucky, can't even get an almost. It's sad, really.
Walking into my room, I look around a bit confused. How did I jump from the elevator to here? Shrugging my shoulders, I jump into bed. Crossing my legs over each other, I fall back into my pillows with extended arms. I think back to the song I wrote about James, if he ever saw it and knew it was for him; I'd die of embarrassment.
Still... I want a boyfriend... I want love... I want adventure... I just don't know how to pursue it.
I wonder what it feels like to fall in love, it's like I'm stuck on the outside of love.
Sitting up quickly, I pull my purse on my lap and pull out my song journal. With a sad smile, I scribble down words and then it turned into lyrics. I write about love; wanting to find it but I'm stuck on the outside looking in.

After writing that song, I had time on my hands. I didn't pack a bikini for nothing, so I'm chillaxing by the pool. I have on my old jean shorts that are falling apart, my cute red and white polka dot bikini top, and my hair is in a messy bun.
A teen magazine is in my hands, sunglasses over my eyes, and smoothie next to me. This is so calming. Well, it is when I don't think about the 6 ft of death in front of me. I do not know how to swim. My parents never had the time to teach me, the nannies never lasted, and staff had jobs to do. I always ended up grounded so lessons at a public pool or something wasn't an option.
