Chpt 10 The Date

(Third Person)

It is 11 at night. Lin is at Rocque Records making her song she wrote earlier that day. The lyrics came to her and now she is finding music to match it. She is lost in the moment with this passion. Everything just feels right, perfect.

James on the other hand is pacing back and forth while staring at his phone. He wants to ask Lin out on a date, he just really doesn't want to mess it up. Over their time together he found a great friend. She means a lot to him, and he doesn't want to lose that.

At the same time, things could be so much more. In his mind they could be a power couple that everyone adores. Most of all, she could be the girl he spends all his time with. The girl he can proudly say, that is my girlfriend.

James gathered the courage and texted her.

Hey you awake? - James

As he sits on his bed, he bites his fingernails nervously.

Yeah, what are you doing up? - Lin

Couldn't get this beautiful girl out of my head - James

Lin smiles at her phone. In her mind, James was asking for date advice like Dave had. A tiny part of her was disappointed but a bigger part of her is happy for him.

I think you should get that checked out - Lin

She decided to mess with him until he admits he needs help to impress a girl.

James was waiting for her text. When she did text back, he needed reinforcement to help him text back. Tip toeing into Logan and Carlos's room, he crept towards Logan.

"Logan"

Sitting on the side of his bed he shakes him awake.

"Logan!" He whisper yelled.

When that didn't work, he actually yelled in his ear.

"Logan!" He said.

Logan jumps up with a squeal and hands up. He looks right at James and puts a hand on his chest. His heart is still beating out of control as he tries to calm down.

"Dude, what are you doing?" He asked.

"I need help, what do I say to this?" James showed Logan the messages.

Logan squints and reads the message.

"To be honest with you, I have no idea" Logan shook his head "let's ask Kendall"

The two crept into Kendall and James's room. They reenacted how James woke up Logan. Kendall was annoyed then the message woke him up completely.

Now the group was in the living room. James was pacing, the nerves are eating him alive. Kendall is determined to help his best friend out. Logan, he was falling asleep, but still wanted to help.

"Okay, Logan name the possibilities of the outcome" Kendall said.

"1. He could ruin his chances completely -"

James squealed.

"2. He can play it off with a joke and still ruin his chances completely or 3. He can be smooth and possibly win her over"

"Possibly?" James questioned.

"I don't know man I'm tired" Logan leaned back into the couch.

"Well wake up, cause if I don't date Lin, you're all going to have to deal with a grumpy James" James said.

"Okay let's read the text again" Kendall said.

Just as the words came out his mouth a sleepwalking Carlos walked out. They group watched him make cereal in his helmet and sit at the table with his eyes completely closed the entire time.
