Being an assistant is soooo boring. For the last 5 days I've been doing anything Gustavo could possibly think of. Far, far away from the recording studio, even the room where they hold the instruments. I've only been in there once to clean them.

Before and after work, I see Dave around the apartment. He will tell me all about his day or the day before. He is really fitting in with his dance team. I'm so proud of him for making his dreams come true. But other than that, we don't talk or hang out anymore.

I've still kept in touch with James and the guys. Our schedules do not match at all, so we haven't really seen other that much. Good thing they invented texting. James and I message each other every night, which brought us a lot closer than I expected.

Oh, and fun fact, GUSTAVO ROCQUE, THE GUSTAVO ROCQUE, is their producer. I had no idea until I cleaned the Big Time Rush poster on the wall.

I question James on the matter. Mostly out of selfish reasonings. If I asked him about Gustavo there is a high percent chance he'd find out I'm Griffin's niece. I don't want the guys to treat me differently because I'm related to their boss boss. I like the way things are now. I don't want that to change.

On another note, I have a plan to help out the guys. James told me Gustavo is making them record another love song. Based off the paragraph James wrote last night; a love song is a big no no.

All morning, I set up everything I needed. When the time comes, I'll only have an hour and a half to pull this off. I bring Gustavo his coffee with a grin. He is in his office slamming the keys on the piano. Writing a typical love song but based on the lack of originality, I think he's stuck.

"Here is your coffee, Mr. Gustavo, sir" I say.

Gustavo is my ideal. Has been for so many years. I can't believe my uncle never told me he works with the Gustavo Rocque. Internally, I apologize for what I'm about to do.

"Thank you, you can go... uh, polish the dance studio floors" he said.

"We are out of polish, sir, used it all yesterday. What else can I do while I wait for it to get delivered?" I say politely.

"Uhmm..." he thinks about it.

In the last 5 days I've done everything there is to do here. As he thinks of something, I pull out the little handy, dandy remote from my back pocket. Folding my hands behind my back, I click the button. The lights start to flicker before shutting off completely.

Kelly rushes in with pure panic.

"The A/C is shooting out confetti!" she yells.

"WHAT!?" Gustavo jumps up.

They ran out the room with me behind them. I click another button which makes them run around hysterically trying to find the cause of this. I quickly made my escape to the recording studio and get right to work.

I spent all last night coming up with the lyrics and a basic demo for the background. Now it's time to pull it together to create the next big hit.

Hiding the CD in my purse, I walk out the recording studio. As I'm walking towards the building exit, Gustavo and Kelly stop in front of me. I cover my mouth to keep from laughing out loud. They are covered in a bunch of... I don't even know, there's too much all over them to tell what it is.

"You" Gustavo pointed at me.

"I didn't do anything" I innocently smile "I already called a cleaning crew and think I'm going to take the rest of the day off"

Gustavo clenches his fists in front of his face and growls. I choke back a laugh and go in my purse. I had a few extra minutes, so I wrote a love song. I hold it out for him with a smile.

"Feel free to change whatever you want. It's to give you an idea on how you want to write yours, plus, consider it a gift for allowing me to be your assistant" I say honestly.

He is still stuck in that position, but now there is smoke coming out of his ears. I stare at him confused and totally shocked. How is that even genetically possible?

"Thank you, Lin. Run" Kelly said taking the song.

With wide eyes, I rush out of there. The last thing I heard was Gustavo's scream. During the ride back home, I was bubbling with joy. The rush of making a song with all the real equipment, pulling pranks of the Gustavo Rocque, and helping out James felt exhilarating.

Knocking on his door, I couldn't stop smiling. I impatiently wait for someone to open it as I rock back and forth on my feet. I didn't know my smile could grow any wider until the door opened. Mrs. Knight stood there with a smile of her own.

"Hello, Mrs. Knight, are the guys here?" I ask.

"No, they aren't. Is there something I can help you with, Lin?" she asked.

"Actually, yeah, can you tell them to meet me at my apartment when they get in" I say.

"Mom! Cabal is out again!" Katie yells.

Mrs. Knight groans then looks at me like she just got an idea. Catching the hint, I laugh softly and nod.

"Katie! Lin is here!" Mrs. Knight yelled.

No time was wasted, Katie is in front of her mom looking up at me with a huge smile. I laugh and extend my arms for her to jump in for a hug. Since I've been working, I haven't had time to hang out. But I always made a little time to see Katie once a day. She really became like a little sister.

"Mom, can I go watch tv at Lin's apartment?" Katie asked in my arms.

"Be back for dinner" Mrs. Knight said.

Mrs. Knight mouths 'thank you' before smiling wide and wishing us off. I told Katie about the song I made for the guys. She insisted we give them the good news a special way. So, that's what we did. Now, we are sitting in my apartment waiting for them to come up.

Our show is playing a new episode. That has our full attention while we munch on popcorn and sodas to wash it down. This episode is barely airing, so I'm just now recording it. A commercial break decides to air right after the popular girl drops a bomb on Lily. Sighing, I lean back into the couch.

"Are you and James going to end up dating?" Katie randomly asked.

"I don't think so, why?" I ask her.

"Look, James is a good guy, but he has had a lot of girlfriends. They never stuck... I just don't want to lose a friend because he did something stupid" she admits.

I scoot closer to her and wrap my arm over her shoulders. She doesn't look at me, so I give her a little squeeze. When she still doesn't look at me, I rest my head on hers.

"Friends before boyfriends. If, and I mean if, we go out. You will always come first, I knew you first, you are my first friend here, and nothing, absolutely nothing, will take me away from you" I sincerely tell her.

The door slams open startling us both. At first, thinking it was an intruder, I pull Katie close to me. Then I see the four boys covered in feathers, something gooey, and all glittery. I let go of Katie a bit and laugh. Both of our laughs fill the air so much it's getting harder to breathe.

I didn't hear what they said before they rushed for us. As I kept laughing, I jumped up and hold out a hand. I'm knelt over while pulling out the CD from my back pocket.

"W-w-w-w-wait, song... wait, I-I-I, CD" I try to get out between laughs.

I hold it up still very much dying of laughter. The CD left my hand, but my eyes are squeezed shut as I wheeze. Next thing I know I'm lifted off the ground being spun around by James. That didn't help me stop laughing. Instead, it made me laugh even more.
