"What do you mean music is out?" I loudly ask.
"Music is out, Malinda, audio books are in" Uncle Griff said happily.
"That doesn't make any sense, you can't just drop Big Time Rush" I try to reason with him.
"This is how business works; this is the real world. You will understand one day" he said.
"No, Uncle Griffin, you are going to realize what a mistake it was to drop them. It might be too late when you do" I hang up.
I am so mad. How can he do that? Just drop the best music group this generation has seen. For what? People to read books to people! I like books but this isn't the best business decision. Big Time Rush is the best investment. I'm not being bias; I really love their sound, so do today's teenagers.
The cab stops and I angrily storm into Rocque Records. As I storm in, I run into just who I wanted to see. Gustavo and Kelly.
"What the hell is going on?" I angrily ask.
"We are bringing Big Time Rush back" they both say.
"What do you need help with?" my mood changes.
~~~~~~~~~~
The three of us pulled our money together to buy back Big Time Rush. Kelly had $200, I had $750, and the rest went on Gustavo. Big Time Rush costed $2,000,000 to buy back from my uncle. I feel really bad, Gustavo had to sell his mansion. I was devastated we had to clean out the studio. Everything comes with a price, their dreams deserve a chance to come true, all of theirs.
Gustavo and Kelly went to Minnesota as I stayed put and organized the concert. I pulled every string, found people under every rock, booked everything that will make this concert legendary, and called some old acquaintances to be play instruments. I put my blood, sweat and tears into making this concert happen.
My uncle may be very connected, but so am I.
"Keep rehearsing, practice until it is all memorized. This has to be perfect, just don't overdo yourself and forget everything" I say while looking over the clip board.
The concert is tonight, the band needs to be ready. I used to summer here every year with my uncle. Terry, Leon, Bon, and Tarrence are people I used to play music with every day for so many summers in Terry's garage. My musician friends.
"We won't let you down, Gyps" Bon said.
"There will be lots of-" Terry butted in.
"Yes, there will be a lot of promoters that will take off your careers" I smile while glancing up from the clip board.
All four hiss a yes while punching the air. Rolling my eyes playfully, I get back to work. They never wanted me to use my connections to lift up their career. They want to make it on their own. I always admired that, kind of stupid, but admirable.
I go through the list head to toe and double check everything. This all has to be perfect.
"Okay, we have an hour, be responsible with your time. I need you on stage 15 minutes before curtains up" I remind them.
"Iye iye boss" Bon salutes.
Chuckling, I walk around to make sure everything is in place. Talking into my headset, I check in with everyone. Mostly just security because that's all we can afford, it's only two guys.
The time was running low, I'm sorry, IT'S RUNNING OVER TIME AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T SHOWED UP, and the crowd started getting antsy. Important people start looking at their watches and I'm getting nervous. I haven't seen the guys yet.
