Mrs. Knight came right as I finished the dishes. She paid me and I left right after. I didn't have time to catch the names of those guys that Freight Train dragged away. It took me a second to make the connection, but I did. Now, I'm relaxing on the couch, getting sleepier by the second.

I heard the door open and close, but my eyes are already sealed shut. Humming in acknowledgement, I snuggle into the blankets. I heard Dave's soft chuckle. A few seconds later, I felt his hand comb back my hair.

"Long first day?" he softly asked.

I hum in response with a small nod.

"Me too. I got some news... I made the team" he said in a softly tone.

I jump up with heavy eyes and smile wide at him. Leaping into his arms he leans back a bit while laughing. I couldn't care less if we fell, this is a huge deal. Dave is my best friend, and his dreams are coming true.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so proud of you! I knew you could do it" I say excitedly.

"You never doubted me" he chuckles while rubbing my back.

My eyes are closed at this point. Resting my head on his shoulder, I can feel myself drifting off into sleep. Next thing I knew, I'm lifted off the couch and in Dave's arms. Yawning softly, I wrap my legs around him, so I don't fall.

"There is no way you are sleeping on the couch" he mumbles.

I just hum in response and wait to lay in a cloud of comfort.

It's day 2 and I'm chilling in the lobby with my song journal. Just in case Mrs. Knight needs a babysitter, she knows where to find me. I'm trying to write a song; nothing is coming to mind at all. Maybe I could write about the change of senary? I love the snow, but the sun is really growing on me.

"Hello, beautiful taken lady" the same boy from yesterday sat next to me.

"Hello, strange boy" I smile into my book.

"Whatcha writing?" he leans over to see.

I cover the page with my hand and pull the book close to my chest. Sighing, I lean back into the chair and stare into an abyss.

"Nothing, writers block" I grumble.

"Maybe, I can help with that" he said.

I saw him reach for my book from the corner of my eye. Quickly, I smack his hand away and look at him surprised. His hand quickly retreats, so he can cradle it. He gives me a weird look. I roll my eyes because I didn't even hit him that hard.

"Don't touch my book" I said sternly.

"Okay, crazy" he sang crazy.

I roll my eyes with a nod. I do feel a bit crazy, the reality of running away again is setting. Leaning my head back on the back of the chair, I stare at the ceiling. I don't want to think about home, so I start a conversation.

"Who are you, anyway?" I ask.

"James, James Diamond" he said like he was James Bond.

"Lin, just Lin" I copy him with a small smile.

"Wanna get out of here? Help with that writer's block a little?" he asked.

I didn't even have to think about it. I don't want to think at this moment.

"Yeah, actually" I say.

I get up and shove my book in my satchel. James hops up with a surprised expression.
