you slowly turn around, facing who was speaking to you. it was a younger girl, around your age. you nod and stare at her until she replies,

"they've all moved away a couple years ago, but i'm georg's cousin. i can help you if you need to contact them. that is, if you're not some crazy fan." she chuckles.

you laugh, "no, actually. it's a long story."

you tried to hide your disappointment in them moving. how would they all move away? maybe they helped their families afford somewhere better.

she thinks for a moment before inviting you in. "here, you can sit with me in here." she says. "i'm sorry for just intruding like this, i-" you start to apologize, but she stops you.

"no, actually, you look familiar now that i look at yoy." she says, surprised. "is it y/n?" she asks.

you nod, giving her a smile. "oh my god, i'm so sorry! i didn't recognize you. you look so different, but in a good way!" she exclaims. you laugh when suddenly you seem to remember her, too. "wait- hanna?" you ask, gasping.

she nods profusely, immediatrly coming to give you a hug. "oh my god, it's been so long! why are you back? where have you been?" she asks, jumping with excitement.

"i went to los angeles to live with my dads, i'm gonna be back for the next month or so." you explain. "that's amazing!" she squeals.

sometimes hanna would hang out with the band along with you whenever she was around. she lived quite a ways away, so whenever she was around it was usually for family visits or events in the family.

"how come you live in tom and bill's house now?" you question as the older lady, who you now recognize as hanna and georg's grandmother, brings you some tea. "it's good to have you back, darling." she smiled, handing you the tea.

"thank you so much, mrs. listing." you thank her and take a sip of the tea.

"tom and bill, as well as georg and gustav's families, were able to raise enough money to leave this place. i guess they simply outgrew it, i'm not sure," she starts to say, "but first it was tom and bill, then gustav, then georg." she explains.

"tom and bill weren't crazy about leaving, but i guess it was best for their careers. probably needed to relocate so it's more convenient for them." she shrugs. "so that's when grandma offered to buy this house off of them, and they immediately agreed because they wanted it to be in good hands and visit." she smiles.

"why not georg's house?" you question. "some family members live there now, but they're distant relatives." she says.

you nod. "and gustav's?"

"some randoms." she shrugs.

you nod, soaking all the information in.

"so what've you been up to since you've been gone?" she asks, sipping some tea.

"well, i've been trying out acting for the past 10 years so i stuck to that passion. occasional singing, but that's it." you shrug, like it wasn't a big deal.

"that's amazing! i mean, you're talented in both, so that's even better. two potential careers right there." she smirks, laughing.

"yeah, but i haven't exactly done anything about it yet." you say.

"oh my god, how can you not? you know what, let's get you an acting gig ASAP!" she says. "wait-" you start to say, but she drags you to the computer.

"okay, now let's see here." she thinks, going online and looking up local acting gigs.

"here! they need tryouts for a role about a girl who's in high school, who's new to the school and gets teased a lot. she has her arch nemesis, a girl in her grade that practically runs the school. one day she has enough and decides to change herself to fit their standards, instantly becoming popular and putting her arch nemesis in her place." she explains. great, the classic 2000's movie scenario.

"seems kinda basic." you say. "yeah, but it's also a role. and it's not by an unknown company. here, let's try it."

"so you need to read this script and send in a video of you doing it." she explains while reading the article.

"okay, here it is! let's do this." she says.

she shows you the script and you try to soak in everything that's happening. "this seems a little sudden." you raise your eyebrow at her.

"it's fine, it's worth a try if this is something you want." she reassures you. you nod and take in a sharp exhale. "okay."

she prints out the script and hands it to you. "do you think you can do this now or do you need to study it?" she asks. "i can read this over a couple times, then i'm sure i'll be okay."

after reading the script over a good 4 or 5 times, you tell her you're ready.

"alright! in 3...2...1...go!"

you begin to read and act out the script, showing passion in your character. you give it your all, even if it's just a silly audition.

once you're finished reading and acting out your character, hanna stops the video. "i had no idea you were so talented." she chuckles. "that was literally amazing."

you thank her and she uploads the video for you. "alright, now they just need your first and last name, e-mail, and phone number." she says. you give her the information and she clicks the "submit" button.

she squeals in happiness. "this is so good! you're definitely getting the role." she exclaims.

"i don't know, hanna. even if i'm good, i don't think i stand a chance next to other people who have auditioned. imagine the celebrities trying it out." you say, doubting yourself.

"hey, don't say that. how do you think those celebrities got popular? they started from somewhere." she reassures you, patting your back.

"but still. don't you think they'll choose some a-list celebrity over me?" you say. "then maybe we should establish a name for you." she thinks.

"what do you mean?" you ask.

"like... we could film a video of you singing, just as a side hustle." she says.

you nod at the idea.

"wait- can you play guitar?!?"

~~~~~~~~~~
hanna begins to rummage through the garage, when suddenly she brings out a familiar electric guitar.
it's tom's old guitar.
"what can you play?" she questions you, handing you the guitar.
"well, i played 'bring me to life' a couple years ago," you say, "i might be able to remember it."
she claps. "great! i'll bring out the camera."
you laugh at her, she's literally just like a mom. just how you remember her.
you set everything up and practice first, then getting the hang of it. "you ready?" she asks. you give her a thumbs up and she once again starts the countdown.
"3...2...1...go!"
she records as you begin to play, making sure to perfect it. you messed up a little midway in, but it was just a minor mistake.
as you were about to finish, you suddenly hear a car pull up. you quickly finish the rest of the song and hanna stops recording, obviously looking confused as to who was here.
"we're not expecting anyone."
not too long after, a knock was heard at the door. "stay here for now." she says and walks out the garage and to the front door.
"what are you guys doing here?"
"just coming by to get some things." a voice says, but it seemed familiar.
you place the guitar down, trying to listen to what was being said.
the footsteps came near and hanna's voice was heard, followed by even more footsteps.
"hey, t-" she started, but wasn't able to finish before you came face to face with someone of your past.
"wait..."
