y/n's pov

seriously? of all people? it had to be her.

you fake a smile at bill and aurora, trying to dismiss the awkward tension in the air. bill refused to take his eyes off of you and stared into your eyes, fixated on you.

"bill! it's so great to see you." your mom suddenly exclaimed, hugging bill. bill returned the hug and smiled at her. "you too, ms. lehmann."

aurora, however, turned to him and raised a brow. "you know them?" she asked, her arms crossed.

"yeah, y/n is a friend." is all he responded with. mr. weiss clapped his hands together, dismissing the tension that built up, obviously sensing a pattern.

"alright, let's start this." he raised his eyebrows, smiling. "aurora, i want you to go first. we will do this audition privately. i get how difficult it is being in a room with a bunch of people, especially right now." he laughed.

he directed you and aurora into a private room, that was clearly set up almost like american idol. there were three chairs with a desk in front of them, and in front of them was just empty space.

"alright, here are the scripts. there will be two more directors coming in soon, they're running a little late." he explains, handing both you and aurora a copy of the same script.

within 5 minutes, the two directors arrive and apologize for their tardiness. they introduce themselves to you and aurora. "hello, my name is sofia." a lady with black hair, cut quite short says. "max. pleasure to meet you two." the other, a man with blonde hair states.

both of them sit down in the chairs beside mr. weiss and mr. weiss instructs you to sit down in a chair out of view to review your lines.

"is it okay if i have bill in here as well? he's such a great supporter of mine and i'd feel more comfortable that way." she politely smiles to the directors. they all looked at each other and shrugged. "alright, that's fine." mr. weiss finally responds.

aurora opens the door, motioning for bill to come to her direction. she then steps away from the door, inviting in a somewhat confused bill.

she instructs him where to sit, which so happens to be a seat across from you instead of the other available seat beside you. you mentally roll your eyes at her behavior.

your heart pounds against your chest as you review the lines, with aurora beginning to perform.

god, she was good at it, too.

you look in front of you to sneak a look at bill, who is paying attention to aurora as she performed. he seemed intrigued by her performance, but after about a second or two of you looking at him, he met your eyes.

you stared at him for a second before you began to panic, immediately looking at your script as aurora's passionate performance rang in your ears.

aurora's performance was amazing, which honestly made your doubt yourself. pull it together, y/n. you got this.

after her performance was over, everyone clapped. "that was amazing, aurora!" mr. weiss praised her. you gulped, mentally preparing for all eyes to be on you.

"y/n?"

you looked at mr. weiss, who gave you a smile and held his hands in front of him, motioning for you to stand in front of them to begin your performance.

aurora gave you a smile, which you were unsure whether was genuine or not as you walked over to where mr. weiss pointed to.

you took a quick glance at bill, who just stared at you as you took another glance at the script. stealing another glance, he was now giving you a thumbs up.
