(switching to first person pov)

y/n's pov

finishing up our meal at a nearby restaurant, i suddenly feel my phone vibrate in my pocket.

"i'll be right back." i excuse myself, earning a nod from mom and hanna.

i took the call outside, seeing the name across the screen. aidan.

i answer it, probably expecting what he was about to say.

"y/n?"

"hey, aidan."

"you having fun over there?" he chuckles over the line.

"yeah, it's pretty cool here in germany."

"i'm sure it is considering you're practically a superstar now."

i went silent for a second, depicting what to say to him. i felt bad for not calling him back, but then again he was always just some weird guy who tried too hard to get my attention.

"sorry for not calling you." i suddenly speak, not entirely sure what else to say to him.

"it's fine. you must be busy." he responds, awkwardly chuckling.

"i have been, but we can talk more, if you'd like. i'd like to stay in connection with my friends." i speak over the line, squinting my eyes as if i was unsure if i said the right thing.

"that'd be great. maybe we can have a make up date once you get back?" he suggests, and i can practically see the smirk plastered on his face.

"uh, yeah. sure." i reply, thinking about taking his offer up.

platonically, of course.

"great, i'll be happy when you come back, y/n." he responds happily.

"me, too. talk to you later." i tell him, hanging up after he responds with the same.

i sigh, god what am i gonna do with him?

i walk back into the restaurant, seeing my mom and hanna at the front, paying for the check.

"you guys ready to go?" she asks, to which hanna and i nod.

"what was the call about, y/n?" hanna asks as we enter the car.

"nothing, just this guy i know from school." i respond blankly, not showing any emotion in my response.

she raises an eyebrow, "you sure?" she asks, "doesn't look like nothing."

hanna always knows when i'm hiding something.

"it's fine, he just keeps bothering me about some date." i explain, mom starting the car and heading back home.

"date? ooooo, do you like him?" she raises her eyebrows, getting closer to me and smirking. "no, nothing like that! i just like him platonically, if anything." i roll my eyes at hanna's behavior.

"mhm. maybe you need someone to lift your mind off of bill." she smirks.

"i don't like bill."

"sure, whatever you say, y/n."

"i don't."

"you've had a thing for him since you were like 5."

i roll my eyes at her, suddenly hearing my mom laughing. i shoot her a glare through the mirror and she just laughs even harder.

well, this is going to be an interesting car ride home.

i plop myself on my bed, cuddling myself into my covers after a nice warm shower.
