y/n's pov

i looked back at him shocked, but then give him a heartwarming smile.

i sat back down next to him as he stayed quiet for a few more seconds as he huffed out another whiff of smoke. he then puts the cigarette out and stares into the sky.

"aurora's been cheating on me."

i wasn't surprised, in all honesty. is that what they were arguing about this whole time?

"...how'd you find out?" i ask, looking down then at him.

he chuckles, "it's always been obvious. but maybe i'm just too oblivious."

"that noah guy, he's who she's been seeing. the dickhead that spiked your drink." he angrily says.

i tried not to gasp at how shocked i was. "i actually just ran into him."

he looks over at me, his eyes slightly teary. i wanted to hold him and comfort him, but i didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

"he said he didn't spike my drink, that it was some friend of his."

"bullshit." he laughs.

"that's what he said!" i respond, and he snickers.

"i really thought i could just have a nornal relationship for once," he sighs, "but maybe it's just not cut out for me."

i frown, putting my hand over his arm. "don't say that, bill. you'll find your person." i say, even though it slightly hurt.

he looks over at me once again, his eyes never leaving mine. "yeah, you might be right."

he suddenly stands up, taking my hand and making me stand up with him. he towered over me, staring down at me with a smile.

"you've always been there for me, y/n. even though you haven't been with us for a while, you're the realest friend i've ever had." he whispers, placing his hand on my cheek causing it to blush red.

suddenly, my phone begins to ring in my pocket. i roll my eyes and answer it, leaving bill stabding in front of me. his hand leaves my cheek, and he stares down at the caller id displayed across the screen.

aidan.

i answer, slightly pissed. "y/n, are you okay?"

"yeah, why?"

"well, you've been gone for like twenty minutes."

"i'm fine, aidan. i'll be down there sometime soon."

"alright, see you soon."

i hang up, watching as bill stares down at me. his frown returned. "your boyfriend?"

"he's not my boyfriend." i respond angrily.

"sure seems like it sometimes."

"why do you care?" i ask coldly. he's been in a relationship with aurora this whole time until now, yet he was just now deciding to give me the attention i always wanted from him. the attention aurora got rather than me.

"because, y/n. i- just.." he stops himself, looking deeper into my eyes. "i've always cared so much about you, but now i know what it is."

my heart drops, and my eyes grow wide. he stands there in front of me, his eyes searching mine.

his hands suddenly slide from his side to my waist gently, lifting my shirt up slightly and rubbing my bare sides softly.

"you've always been the most important thing to me, y/n." he whispers as i felt his breath on my face. i look up into his eyes at a loss of words.
