Sean had left early since him and Deon had to go workout. Yasmeen, her co-worker, had texted her asking if she would like to go grab something to eat and she agreed.

Milan stood up out of her bed and checked the time on her iPhone 12, it was 10:30 in the morning. She noticed she had a message from her mom and Sean.

Mom: Are you ok up there? I'm missing you.

Milan smiled as she replied back to her mom. Then she clicked on Sean's message.

Sean: I enjoyed eating pizza and watching the Parker's with you. Well, the Parker's was watching us.

Milan: i enjoyed it too, maybe we can hang out again at your room?

Milan exited her messages and began getting undressed before wrapping her bath towel around her. She put her used clothes in the laundry basket.

She prayed that she wouldn't run into Paris and end up having an awkward encounter. When she exited the room she blew out a breath, noticing the coast was clear.

Milan went into the bathroom and turned on the shower. She checked the temperature to make sure it was scorching just how she liked it before stepping in.

The water hit her body instantly, she grabbed her lavender scented body wash and began to lather her body in it. After her shower, Milan brushed her teeth and began her skin care routine.

When finished, she went back into the room with her towel covering her. After moisturizing Milan scavenged to find a outfit. She decided on a basic white crop top and some jeans. Along with some sandals.

Milan let Yasmeen know that she was ready and decided to text Sean while she waited for her.

A few minutes passed before she was told to come outside by Yasmeen. Yasmeen was parked right outside of her building in a Nissan.

"Hey." Milan stated as she slid into the passenger seat, she made sure to put on her seatbelt.

"Hey girl, you have anything in mind?" Yasmeen asked as she made her way off of campus.

"Nope, anything is fine."

"So, how has school been for you?" Yasmeen made conversation, she was a sophomore and was trying to get to know Milan a little better.

"It's okay, not the best." Milan confided.

"Not the best?" Yasmeen looked over at Milan with a perplexed expression before putting her eyes back on the road. "Do I have to beat somebody up?"

Milan chuckled, "No, just roommate trouble."

"Girl, I think we've all been there. Don't let it get to you. I know a RA that could offer assistance if needed."

Milan nodded at the suggestion. She didn't want to get anyone else involved though, she felt it would blow over.

"Yeah, thanks."

The two made it to the restaurant, Zaxby's, and stepped out of the car.

"You like there food?" Yasmeen asked as she opened the door for Milan.

"Yeah, especially the toast."

The two walked side by side and eyed the menu. When they got an idea of what they wanted Milan walked up to the cashier first.

Milan settled on the Zax snack that included tenders, fries, and toast and Yasmeen settled on loaded fries. The two decided to sit at a table while they waited for their food.

"So what's up with ole boy from the library?" Yasmeen asked with a smirk.

Milan rolled her eyes playfully at the reference, "I mean, we're just friends for now."

"For now huh?"

Milan nodded before she looked down at her pants. She was really debating with herself about telling Yasmeen what's been going on with her.

She couldn't tell her mom, because she knew it wouldn't end well. She didn't have any other friends and she didn't know if Yasmeen was to be trusted.

Milan shrugged those thoughts off, she needed advice.

"What's the matter?" Yasmeen asked.

"It's just with him comes a lot of baggage. He's the reason me and my roommate are having issues." Milan confessed as she placed her head in her hand.

"Wait, one second." Yasmeen held up her finger when she heard their orders being called, "I'll get yours too."

Yasmeen came back with their food and placed Milan's bag in front of her before taking her seat across from her.

"Now go ahead, I'm all ears." Yasmeen said while taking out her plate.

"I was saying, he's the reason me and my roommate aren't on good terms. Long story short, one her friends talked to him before and now-"

"Now she doesn't want to be associated with you because of that."

Milan nodded as she opened her plate, she instantly took some of the fries into her mouth.

Yasmeen looked off to the side and said, "That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard."

Milan raised her brows, she kind of understood where Paris was coming from

Milan raised her brows, she kind of understood where Paris was coming from.

"Why do you say that?"

"I mean I get her trying to be loyal to their friendship, but over a boy? Really? How long were they dating?"

"He was saying they didn't even have anything official. She's upset that he broke it off."

"And are you her friend?"

Milan shook her head. She barely knew Chloe, they rode to a party together and that was that.

Yasmeen put some fries into her mouth.

"So who's the girl?" Yasmeen asked, she noticed the skepticism in Milan's face. "Look, I promise everything is safe with me."

"Her names Zoey."

Yasmeen practically choked on her fries, "Cheerleader Zoey? Coo coo for cocoa puffs Zoey?"

Milan burst out in laughter.

"Listen, that was my roommate my freshmen year. I'm pretty sure she has your roommate as her lapdog or something."

"So you had problems with her too?" Milan asked after swallowing some of her food.

"Did I? I just feel like she's jealous he has actual interest in you. I know you probably had a bond with your roommate but it's ok to just be cordial." Yasmeen shrugged.

"You're right."

"Plus, you have me now. You're cool as hell and we both have locs. We gotta stick together girl." Yasmeen joked.
