Milan looked into Sean's eyes and couldn't believe that they had been dating for almost a year now. Here she was a sophomore while Sean was a junior in college.
"What?" Sean laughed when he noticed that Milan had locked eyes with him. Her expression was unreadable.
"Did you stare too hard and noticed that I'm a little ugly or something?" He asked with a stale face making Milan burst into laughter.
"No bighead." Milan straightened her body up against the wall. They were on Sean's bed studying together and she just happened to think about how they had gotten here.
She remembered how Sean had managed to pull her out of the hole that she had managed to get into. Milan didn't understand how that situation with Davon had managed to hurt her, but it did.
Sean walked up to the door that he was no stranger to and held his hand up to knock on the door. Before he even made contact, he stopped himself.
Was he making the right decision? Should he go in and heal a woman from another man's wounds?
The door opened making Sean's heart dropped. When he noticed it was Paris he blew out a breath of relief. He wasn't ready to face Milan just yet.
"Hey." Paris pushed out.
There was a long pause before Sean spoke, "Hey, I-"
"You're here for Milan? She's been moping around here for God knows how long. I wanted to check on her but.. you know."
"Yeah, I'm here to see how she's doing." Sean replied.
"Look, I know what Zoey did and I'm sorry for what happened. I was just trying to be a good friend."
"You don't need to apologize to me. I think Milan needs that more than anything."
Paris looked down and gave a stiff nod, "You're right, tell Milan I let you in."
Paris stepped out of the door leaving it open for him. They exchanged farewells and she walked away.
Sean walked inside of the suite, making sure to close the door behind him and proceeded to Milan's door.
He was now face to face with the red letter B. Sean knocked on the door twice, when he didn't receive an answer he took that as a change to rethink his decision to come talk to her.
Sean knocked once more earning a small, "Who is it?"
"It's me."
"Me who?"
"S-Sean."
The voice didn't respond and that made Sean's mind wander. Before he could turn around the door opened. His face softened when he was met with an unkempt Milan who's face was flushed.
She wasn't her usual self and that hurt him.
"What are you doi-"
Before she could get a word out he engulfed her in a hug. Her face sunk into his chest and her eyes closed tightly, the smell of his cologne was comforting. It was a hug that Milan didn't even know she needed.
Her arms wrapped around his back.
"I'm sorry Sean, I'm sorry for everything." Milan cried.
Sean didn't utter a word as he held her. He missed her so much and just wanted to take her being in his arms in.
He pulled back and clutched her face in his hands, swiping away her tears. "There's no need to be sorry Mil, I'm here. I'll always be here."
It was crazy how the hard demeanor that he planned to enter her room with had vanished. It was like he couldn't even act like something that he wasn't when he was around Milan. She was precious to him, and he wanted to put her in his pocket and protect her from harm.
He looked over at her and took in her appearance. She felt eyes on her and looked in his direction.
"What?" Milan smiled.
"You know I'm going to marry you one day right?"
THE END.
