It is the first week of October and maybe the most hectic times on campus. Homecoming week meant that the campus was going to filled with old students coming to visit their alma mater, locals that just wanted to be in on the fun, and of course the students.
There was going to be a lot to get into and Milan wanted to make the best of her first homecoming experience. Then she'd have to focus on her midterms that were two weeks away. She wanted to make the best of her free week.
"You know it's a frat party tonight and we're in there. You know I love the ques." Yasmeen stated as she laid on Milan's lap.
Milan had her phone up to her face scrolling this Davon's instagram. He was photogenic and loved to photograph his outfits for instagram.
"Ugh! You better not be stalking Davon again."
"Mind your business." Milan stated while swiping off of the app.
"Your business is my business. I know you been over to his room being grown last night."
Milan rolled her eyes, she shouldn't have never started sharing locations with Yasmeen. She made it her mission to watch her every move, it came from a good place though. Yasmeen was very protecting of her friends.
"We wasn't. Davon isn't like that."
Davon didn't even try to kiss Milan, he knew she was a virgin and he wanted to take his time with her before indulging in anything. He had cut off everyone he had been talking to to pursue her.
"Okay, come on gentleman." Yasmeen raised her voice a little, "I can't say the same for me and his friend though, that boy is a freak. Not to mention, he's a que."
Milan twisted her face up and nudged Yasmeen, "I do not need to know that, seriously."
"I'm just putting you on point, I know you didn't have none yet. Just adding some excitement in your life." Yasmeen laughed.
"Where's Taylor when you need her?"
"Now you know her and Deon is somewhere laid up as we speak. I think they plan on coming to the party though, she mentioned it in the group chat."
Milan knew that it was likely that Sean was going to be with them as well. She had to admit she thought about him from time to time. She missed studying with him, the little talks that they had, their friendship overall.
She knew it was vital that she ended it. Milan took her mother's advice after she gave in and told her that she had met someone. Lauren felt that Milan deserved someone who chose her everyday, not just sometimes.
She felt that Milan was putting her feelings on the line by limiting herself to just Sean while he tested the waters. Her mother did respect Sean for actually letting Milan know that he wasn't ready though.
"Yes, he's going to be there." Yasmeen stated as if she was reading Milan's mind, "I know you still think about him from time to time."
Milan shrugged, "Kind of."
"And why do you think that is?"
"I honestly don't know Yas, we had two different mindsets when it comes to relationships."
"Opposites attract boo." Yasmeen sat up, "I feel that he really likes you, he just never had somebody actually put their foot down when it comes to him. Yeah, you're reserved but you're not about to take no shit."
Milan agreed, she could be regarded as quiet and when people thought quiet they thought pushover. She was far from that, she was raised by a woman who taught her to speak her mind when needed.
"Well, I'm going to my room to get dressed. When I come back you better be ready to go."
"Ok, see you later and be safe."
Yasmeen and Milan shared a hug before she left out of the door leaving Milan in her solitude. Her mind instantly went back to Sean. Yes, she would see him since they were connected to the same people.
They didn't utter a word to each other but they would steal glances. Yasmeen hated how awkward things were between them but didn't see herself trying to rekindle anything. Her pride was too high and besides she had Davon now.
Sean had finally made it to the party. He had received his car after finally convincing his dad to get it fixed for him, he decided that he would bring Taylor and Deon tonight since Deon always drove him around.
Deon and Taylor went their separate ways and Sean was busy chatting with one of his girl classmates about a difficult assignment their professor had assigned them. He felt a pair of eyes on him and looked over into the crowd that occupied the living room to see Milan.
She was standing by herself, he locked eyes with her and they held stares until a guy made his way to her handing her a drink. Sean took his attention off of her and onto the girl.
"Why don't you go over and talk to her?" She laughed.
"Nah, I don't think now is the right time." He said referring to the guy that now had Milan's attention. He knew exactly who it was being that Deon had showed him Davon when he had asked about him.
Deon happened to be one of the office helpers in the freshmen boys dormitory and knew of all of the freshmen boys.
"She can't keep her attention off of you. I don't think she's too interested in what's his name, I'll see you in class though."
"Yeah." Sean said, before taking a seat at the island. He honestly wasn't feeling the party hence why he was standing in the kitchen away from everyone.
He hasn't been feeling anything or anyone these days. Sean felt like he needed a change, he was tired of all of the confusion surrounding him.
"Hey." Sean looked up and locked eyes with Zoey who slouched over the island.
He could tell she was intoxicated.
"Wassup." Sean voice didn't hold any enthusiasm, he didn't need her getting the wrong idea.
"Why are you acting like that toward with me?" Zoey slurred.
"I'm not acting any way Zoey, you don't remember fucking up my clothes?"
"That was an ac- accident."
"You need to get home." Sean said as he looked around the kitchen, "Who did you come here with?"
"My little brother."
"Who's your little brother? You never told me you had one."
"D-Davon."
Sean looked into the crowd and saw Davon and Milan talking amongst each other. He made sure to sit Zoey down into one of the chairs in the kitchen.
"You stay right here, I'm going to go get him for you."
